Still loving my A55. Done the Rockbox thing and it can now drive my Sennheiser HD598sr to pretty high levels. Not got much use for the FM tuner but it's nice to have I suppose. I love the sound character of this little player and it works well with all the wired IEM's in my collection. I was somewhat disappointed to discover that it doesn't play particularly nicely with my Sony WF1000XM3's as it doesn't support AAC CODEC so it reverts to SBC (urgg) but it does play well with my APtX and LDAC enabled headphones no problem.

Currently looking for an inexpensive case - anyone got a spare they don't need anymore?

The 35mW at 16ohm power of A55 is good enough for most IEMs? Or, a little more can be helpful to drive hybrids like MEST (DD+BA+EST)?

Well on the 40 ohm IER-Z1R, I feel it lacks dynamics and stage, it is boomy compared to wm1A

Tes, wm1A SE is 60mW and balanced 250 me, I use both the IER-Z1R and IER-M7 on balanced

A55 specs list DSEE HX on the box of unit I received. Might this be a little less powerful than the AI-powered DSEE HX AI in bringing back some of the lost details from old recordings? Wish A55 too could be given the AI version update for DSEE HX via a possible official firmware or your own in future. I certainly notice a lot of happy ZX507 users waxing lyrical about the good things DSEE HX AI doing.

I would gladly do it, but A55 works a bit different, and there is no sound being played back. If I'll figure out how to make it work, it will be released as soon as possible.

BTW: Did You ever try to make the EQ and DSEE HX settings work via BT? I miss those options everytime I use my TWS...
