I’ve tried the coreir tips with the z1r. It makes them stick out further than they already do. I’m not overly impressed by these tips, they are a little flimsy imo and I don’t get a very good seal. That could be a “me” problem. I like Azla Sedna with the z1r.I'd like to try the Coreir tips but really not sure about the sizing
I tend to need either medium or large for my ears, seems a big expense if fit is wrong, especially importing to the UK

Coreir tips reduce the bass, though Mids and Treble quality improved.

I do think these IEM's need a short tip. The Azla Shorts do the job well for me.

The deep insertion causes a massive 12kHz high Q peak specially with silicone tips so I am not convinced deeper is necessarily better unless you’re interested in a tinnitus speed run.
That being said I also use the short MS tips.

I do a deep insert with silicone tips and don’t notice any massive peak and yes my hearing does extend well beyond 12kHz despite being 61The deep insertion causes a massive 12kHz high Q peak specially with silicone tips so I am not convinced deeper is necessarily better unless you’re interested in a tinnitus speed run.

That was in 2018!!! AND HERE IS THE IER-Z1R KILLER FiiO FH7.Try it and you will not want to spend $2000 for the same sound.FiiO FH7 cost $400 USD and it has one 13.6mm Beryllium Dynamic Driver (Beryllium and Magnesium is the same element category) plus 4 Knowles BA Drivers. I listened both and out of my AK DAP I could not hear the difference, of course, if you know the other one is $2000 and made in Japan there is HUGE placebo factor but the sound maybe even better in FH7. Conclusion: If you wealthy then buy Sony IER-Z1R because of the $$$ price tag/brand name placebo effect. If you wise with your money buy FH7 and enjoy it today, it has better sound if you pair it with a good DAC/DAP.Good luck everybody!
Gotta love these posts Not!
1) You are not in a kindergarden here but in a audio-specialised forum among adults. So trying to manipulate here is rather useless. Conclusion: If you wealthy then buy Sony IER-Z1R because of the $$$ price tag/brand name placebo effect. If you wise with your money buy FH7 and enjoy it today, it has better sound if you pair it with a good DAC/DAP.Good luck everybody!
2) Instead of trying to manipulate you should try both IEMs on a proper DAP flagship like SONY NM-WM1Z(M2). Then you may hear the difference, also due to the synergy.
3) Personally I support inventors with my money, not those who infringe patents and copy only.

"That was in 2018!!! AND HERE IS THE FIIO FH7 KILLER TRUTHEAR HOLA. Try it and you will not want to spend $400 for the same sound. Truthear Hola costs significantly less and it has an impressive driver for its price range. I listened to both and out of my AK DAP I could not hear the difference, of course, if you know the other one is $400 and has a reputable brand name, there is a HUGE placebo factor, but the sound may even be better in the Hola. See? Anyone can do this.

Isn't FH7 a 2021 product? Have only heard FH5, but most reviews/impressions I've heard or read won't even rate them that well in the sub 500 category. But, hey, if it works for you nothing like it. Stating that you couldn't hear any difference and found FH7 better is completely fine, but I think your tone definitely comes across as condescending. That was in 2018!!! Z1R is one of the very few IEMs which have really stood the test of time (5 years in IEM world especially considering the huge improvements witnessed in budget fi and mid fi). I just hope it was more ergonomic for my ears :/

Me thinks a troll lurks about.
RIP my IER-Z1R. I loved them, but they hurt my ears after 20 minutes so I shipped them to a dark, dark place
FH7 is my endgame iem as well. I had to try more expensive iems, more praised iem's to realise that.
I also agree it's the z1r killer with better midrange ,much better comfort and a very similar big thunderous and fast bass .Just like the FH9 is the Monarch mkIII killer with even better bass for half the price. The thing is FH7 is better than the FH9 but now it's gone , discontinued and therefore most precious to me. It doesn't leave the house anymore even though only payed 240£ for it .
I guess FiiO it's not a very cool company.I personally kind of hate their buggy Bluetooth hooks and dongles but their flagship iems are very underrated.

That's a fair assessment. If someone wants an IEM tuned similarly to the Z1R, the FH7 is an option.
Fiio is a pretty good company in the "chi-fi" realm. I've had good luck with the hooks and their DAPs. The build quality per dollar is decent. They aren't giant killers, but respectable.

FH7 have mid / upper bass bleed and don't sound as impactful as Z1R. I had FH7 before and for me they're not in the same class. I love Fiio (even my DAP is M17) but the IEMs they are producing isn't up to TOTL yet. The FH7 is more like sony IER-M9 characteristic rather than Z1R with thick and bold mids but the imaging isn't on par with M9. I forgot about sub bass, maybe FH7 have more subbass impact but M9 is more agile, tactile and controlled.
