How would z1r compete with kse 1200/1500?
will the 1200 and 1500 also al few levels above z1r?

I have the DM6, got it after the CL2. Burned it in for 200 hours, in the last month have gotten maybe 90 minutes of listening time on it.I’ve actually found two BA only IEMs which I like the bass on. Both are Chinese; the DM6 and the qdc Anole V3. Both actually don’t maybe have the most well rounded tuning. And while the bass is fast and goes low, it’s surprising to me as I had always thought BA’s by their nature had bad bass decay and couldn’t go so low. They both probably don’t go quite as low as DDs can? But........they go low enough that I like them with bass heavy genres like EDM.
Still I agree, maybe I’m just used to BAs now? It’s great that Sony has taken the path they have chosen with the IER-Z1R; and I have confidence they will get it right. I’m looking forward to it being not perfect; but providing many perfect listening sessions.
Cheers!
The electrostats are next gen drivers, we are waiting to see how the Sony match up, but I would say, this is where all the innovation is.How would z1r compete with kse 1200/1500?

Read the thread, the last 10-15 pages, so you know what to expect@https://www.head-fi.org/members/kitechaser.500941/
I’ll have to give those a go.

Once you listen them or a good planar, it's kind of hard to go back.
Think 4k vs 1080p or in most cases 720p
The bass on the CL2 is very tip dependent. With the tennmak wide tips, I get very deep insertion and bass hits as hard of any dynamic IEM I have had outside of the Vega and Atlas. (On certain EDM tracks bass in my throat) I do not think they are lacking in bass, they render it beautifully when called for. Most TV broadcasts are in 720P. I'm kinda hoping that we get 4K sports as the standard in the next 5 years, but I kinda doubt it as we can't even get 1080P sports or regular TV broadcasting. I owned a Stax headphone setup several years ago, but felt like the bass was kinda lacking. So electrostatic drivers in IEMs are better in this regard? I have avoided the Shure threads because of the cost and inconvenience of needing a seperate amp/dac, but the Jomo Trinity got me excited.

Completely agree. Anyone considering TOTL iems should have electrostats and planars near the top of their list. The bass is fantastic in the Shures, just look at the various FR graphs posted. The small enclosure makes all the difference. If there is any issue with the presentation for the Shures it's in the upper treble having spikes and valleys. It's not a huge deal, but I apply some eq and find it makes a nice improvement.
Yes, there is a separate amp, which it comes with. Any of these options require a DAC, or not. It's not going to be an on-the-go pocketable system unless you're wearing cargo pants or using something like an old iPod shuffle as a source.
As to the price... as I mentioned a couple times already, I got my KSE1200s open box for the same price as the Solaris goes for new, and way less than the Sonys will be once they finally launch. If someone doesn't want to say go much above $1000, I get it. But once we're talking about options in the same price category, the fact that these aren't being regularly mentioned and compared is a grave disservice to the Head-fi community. From a technical perspective they're the most advanced thing out there, full stop, and the reviews bear out them being the most transparent/detailed things you can shove in your ears.
