Low stock in Australia, but there are dealers that still have stock for now.

The rumors/speculations of the IER Z1R being discontinued been around for the past 4 years. I'm sure companies have residual stock given they probably are not a high volume sales item.

Llistened to Handel's Rinaldo opera (Hatmonia mundi box) . The IER-Z1R continues to wow (and scare me haha) until today
My Z1R was produced just last year, so I don’t think it’s discontinued.

I finally got around to polishing my Z1Rs after more than two years of accumulating microscratches and dirt. Was such a quick and easy process - well worth the simple effort to get your Z1Rs looking like new.
Oh damn, polishing the z1r! How did I not think of that? Is there some specfic guide/things I should use to polish my precious earphones?

Have you tried any other eartips other than stock ones? How do they compare to foamax?I have found new favorite tips for Z1R. It's the new Azla Foamax tips. Super comfortable, seal well, has earwax protection, better separation and a tad 'cleaner' bass and treble than stock silicone tips. Only downside I can think of is it tends to round off the edginess on notes that it makes the Z1R lost its aggressiveness somewhat - it sounds better to me but I could imagine some wouldn't like this characteristics.
It's really simple. Just get the brand in the picture, follow the instructions, and voila! As new Z1ROh damn, polishing the z1r! How did I not think of that? Is there some specfic guide/things I should use to polish my precious earphones?

I have tried quite a few tips, including Final E, Sony Ep11, entire Sedna series (except xelastic 2), spinfit W1 + CP?? (I don't rmb the number), JVC, Radius Deep mount series, also the stock tips coming from my other sets in my sig and a few others that I can't recall the nameHave you tried any other eartips other than stock ones? How do they compare to foamax?
Sound quality wise I'd rate Sedna Origin > Stock silicone > Sedna Foamax > else
Fit wise Foamax > Stock Silicone > Stock hybrid > else
One small trick if you want to try foamax is before putting the iems in your ears try squeezing hard on the tips to deform it first, then insert the iems, then after 10-15sec the foam will regain its form and fill up your ear canals. Perfectly sealed
I ordered a set of Xelastec II yesterday, should arrive tomorrow, let's see how it fares

That's a large amount of eartips! I tried xelastic 1 a while ago, to me they didn't seem very impressive, but it's been a while since I used them.I have tried quite a few tips, including Final E, Sony Ep11, entire Sedna series (except xelastic 2), spinfit W1 + CP?? I only remember that my ears were winning in the grip competition and even xelastic was slowly pushed out of my ears.

I just found this Foamax comparison graph, even though its for N5005 but you can expect a somewhat similar effect on Z1R (pretty much aligned to what I hear - tame the treble a bit and clean up the low end)That's a large amount of eartips! Here is some tip rolling I did back in the day. I have more tips now, but can't be arsed and I usually use the coupler for QC. The measurements have various insertion points as you can see but it's what I have. I tend to insert shallower with foams.
In my experience, the best tips for Z1R are the own Sony's EP-NI1010 (the ones with wax guard) for a tighter response, and EP-EX11 for wow factor. I use the latter because those foams break very fast and I think the Z1R should sound like the Z1R. If I want monitor accurate sound I use the M9.
Those AZLA look interesting but I always suspected it would tame a lot the air frequencies because of how they're made. There's too much foam surface after the stem ends.
