Nothing wrong but a little funny.
Purk's avatar is the Sony R-10 nicknamed the king of headphones. He is the one person here I envy because he has the R -10 and the Qualia 010. You should look those up.

It's because R-10 looks like CD3000. But, where could I request the wood cups? Could I try request a woodworker copy the plastic ones. If so, what kind of wood?

In my opinion it would only be for aesthetics. I don't know if it would help the sound.
There used to be some people that made wood cups for senns and beyers but I don't know if they are still in business.

I would not recommended getting a wood cup for the CD3000. I went there and done that and came back liking the CD3000 fully recabled with good copper more. The CD3000 was designed that way for that particular earcups for a reason. The CD3000 recabled for balanced drive (dual entries at the bottom of earcups) really does sound really great.

Alright, I wil try recable it firstly. But, I like the looking of headphone with wood cups and I was thinking about improvements with this.

How max recommended compriment for the new cables? About the copper, what recommended gauge? Solid ?

Any good and warm copper will do. I recommend Norne Audio Copper over the Black Dragon for instance. Doesn't need to be solid core. Good warm copper cable will tame the high and bring out more bass output.

Just about to sell my cd3000. Checking resale prices really. No box but they still sound great. Loose inner headband. Wonder if I can get one made to the same shape...
Yes, I have one made in leather along with headband wrapped in leather and can recommend the builder if needed.
