If your headphones are worth anything, this track will make you feel like you're flying! Also listening to the initial bass drum parts gives me a solid impression of what tight bass is in headphones considered "dry" by most people. If they're accurate, they'll reflect this quite well. The youtube vid is good enough quality-wise to show you guys what I'm talking about.

Does anyone know where this exact version came from?  There are at least three version of this song on iTunes but none of them are this one.  I love this version.

Norah Jones' "Come Away With Me" Is the most amazing, and unique track I have ever recorded. It has a brush running over a snare drum for most of the track and that thing sounds absolutely different on every pair of speakers and headphones I have ever heard it on. Sometimes it's very in the foreground, sometimes hardly there, sometimes it mixed well and sometimes it stands apart. It's utterly amazing.

"New York Minute" on "Hell Freezes Over" by the Eagles is still some of the best work I have ever heard as well. I love the way the drums start to kick in near the end, a very 'power' track by the time you get that far.

Steely Dan deserves several mentions, but "Everything Must Go" deserves special mention. Great, great track with a great bass guitar.

Obviously sounds much better from CD/hi bitrate

His music makes my brain fry with Grados on. I can smell burning skin if I leave them on for too long

Well, I don't really know with the HD595's.

But there's one song that's risen to the ultimate top of songs that move me in my collection since I've been using my Shure E4's:

Damien Rice - Eskimo (from the album 'O', which also includes the beautiful song 'Delicate')

I can't explain it, you'll just have to listen.

I second the above comment. I enjoyed the Damien Rice "O" album a lot on my HD595. On the the HD650 it is absolutely unbelievable, particularly the strings in "Blowers daughter" with the amazing subbass and crystal clear guitar strings. Did I mention the sound stage? I also noticed a huge difference between an old VBR 192Kbs mp3 and lossless FLAC.

I'm not a big hip hop head but I do enjoy some of the classics through a nice system:

Cassandra Wilson - and her "Belly of the Sun" album.  She's got a great female gravely jazz voice and the instruments that are utilized by her band bring out the most of her music.  She actually has a few "covers" on this album, too: The Weight, Shelter From the Storm, and Wichita Lineman.  All of those versions are unbelievable if you're familiar with the originals, two being 60s songs and the other being a country song.  She does all three songs justice.

There's a french album called "Samedi Soir Sur La Terre" by Francis Cabrel.  This album sounds astonishing if you like acoustic guitar.  Another one is "Sarbacane".

Very well recorded albums... see for yourself

Another incredible album:  Le Fabuleux Destin D'Amélie Poulain - Yann Tiersen

This one is simply amazing!

It is from their 2009 album "acoustic junk" which is only available on CD at live shows.

You can purchase the mp3 version here:

There are actually endless Cowboy Junkies songs that sound great with headphones.  I've only been a fan of them for the 4 months or so - but, can't believe I've overlooked the last 25 years of what they've offered.
