umm... it sounds kinda crap on Youtube.  When the bass drop on 0.32 it drops hard on my Clip+ but on youtube can barely hear it.

House of Cards - Radiohead is a revelation on the LCD-2. In fact the whole of In Rainbows is probably one of the best produced albums i've ever heard.

See, now that's why I had hoped we could upload 30 sec. clips to demonstrate/educate on really killer pieces/sections of music without running afoul of copyright laws.

If you want to be wow-ed in terms of audio equipment, find a Hi-Vi T200A test disc. Every piece on that disc has been artificially augmented to add a zero behind the price-tag of every single rear-end (headphones or speakers) device you will ever come by.

Have you guys seen the Bollywood film Saawariya? Well, it's not that great, but the music in the film is. I'm listening to the soundtrack right now, and even my least favorite songs are mixed well, including the song called Yoon Shabnami. Here's a link to a vid that is available in HD: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DpYHhdKa9QY (embedding is disabled, unfortunately).

I don't like this particular song, but I would say this song is probably the one of best mixed track on the CD. The overall soundtrack has an artificial sound, but I actually think it adds to the magical feel of it.

Great thread!

With the Q701's I really like Armin van Buuren's 'Desiderium 207' intro on Mirage, especially the seemless transition to 'Mirage'. Makes me go bonkers every time again.

Also I like Janine Jansen's interpretation of Vivaldi's 'Four Seasons'. The Q701 places every instrument on a place and keeps it there. Actually after I got the Q701 it was the first time classical music made entrance to my iTunes library.

I have little experience with my Sennheiser HD25-II's, as I've received them two days ago, but that one is more allround, although trying to hard sometimes compared to the Q701. Very noticable with the earlier mentioned 'Desiderium 207'. Will have to burn them in some more to make a fair comparison I guess (and still I hope to recive the B&W P5's some time soon)

I think I might have defied conventional wisdom:

I fell in love with my HD555s, as I was preparing to put them on Craigslist. How? Eminem's "Recovery". It is amazing what a different 1/4 --> 3.5 adapter and a reluctant encounter with an EQ can do.
