I have no idea where anyone is getting the remote idea that the SRH1840 would be sold for LESS than the SRH940 MSRP. Dream on.

The 940 is selling for just over $250. $350 street sounds reasonable.

Seeing as the Shure website gives £599 as the UK RRP, I can see the US RRP also being around $600. But as we all know, the price of Shure headphones very quickly takes a nose dive a few weeks after release...

Hmmm, even we pay $298.00AUD for a brand new Shure 940 ~ pricey times in Canada indeed.

Back on topic, are these flag ship Shures likely to be made in China or the US?

Really? I bought them on Black Friday and it cost me $240 + $30 shipping. And I'm in Asia.

Canada has a little thing called import duties. If i were to order something from the states i will still pay more then buying from a local company even if it's more expensive in canada. So that hd650 for $300 ya thats not happening.

China. They don't make anything here. Westone does, not Shure. (no pun intended)

Sorry about your luck Canada, I expect it is taxes. What's with your property costs too ? Sheeze !! Unreal.

12% tax on everything doesn't seem that bad.

Why is it that the 1840 are so pretty, but the 1440 are so.....ewwww.

Hey, I find the 1440 quite sexy in fact.

The design is sleek and stylish(in my opinion of course).  How it sounds is the most important question as well as comfort.
