Guess you will need a Westone for RUSH tunes then come back to Shure for Yes, ELP, and genesis.
No no, Rush through the ie800 sounded much better with the recessed mids. )

What's the best price I can expect on these? Also, does Shure stuff usually get discounted more once it's out longer, or not until it gets discontinued/superceded?
If you work hard, you can get the SE846 for $750 by haggling with different Shure authorized dealers. At least I have gotten that price quote, others around $800. ProAudioStar will over between 750-800 if you go in asking for 700; try their online chat. Shure closely watches what their authorized dealers publicize; I find that you can get a SE535 for $350-375, but will hardly ever get lower, and definitely not from an advertised price. So by going straight to dealers, you can get a better deal, especially some of the smaller ones.
Interesting about "Burn In" many say the earphone will sound better after 50 hours of burn in or others say it will sound better after 100 hours of burn in. Is that the same as saying your exotic sports car will run better after 50,000 miles of burn in?

That's not a very good analogy. Burn in with dynamic drivers: 100 %yes. BA's: maybe, the 846's were my first pair of ba's which I bought new. Right out of the box they sounded great and I did notice an improvement with more time, however that might just be my brain.

It appears that Shure finally cleared up their act with the SE846, but at what price tag! The ones before these have had insane treble recession and early cut off bass. I wonder though, how these measure up to JH16s
