Guys how can I make my se846 a bit bass havy what i mean is i want to have more impact of bass i have tried the warm filter but it didnt make much of a difference to my ears. I am using hifiman 650 with minibox amp.... What do you suggest another dap, custom cables, filter mod etc?

If you want moar bass than that of the SE846s with black filters i'd suggest you to try to listen the Westone W50s.

@hykhleif 5tx seems interesting though is there any other alternative? Since availability might be an issue in Beijing

@elfary I like se846 better though even compared to w60 its just that i want bit more bass but if i dont get it i will still be happy with it its like i am looking for an icing on cake

to be honest there isn't anything that is so portable and small like the 5tx for best bass out there, and u might find people who would sell their 5tx and its the cheapest solution assuming u tried different ear tips

you might find other solutions but start with ear tips, did u try weston start tips

also i never heard ur dap maybe its not a good one for bass

you can go other routes, which are andoid and mojo and go nuts with bass using v4a

another option is cowon d and there u can get all the bass you want.

@hykhleif I have contacted headphonia and good news is that I can actually pay them locally and they will ship it from a place here in china so availability would not be an issue i guess....what do you think about chord mojo btw? Thats getting a lot of praise as well

Try sources like the iPhone 6S plus that has a high impedance. That will boost the bass.

Or try an other filter?

This morning, I was listening to music with my SE846 and Apple iPhone 6s. Meanwhile, I accidentally triggered the SIRI, which was at full volume.

I wondering if it will cause any damage to the IEM or my ear?

Guys which Arrow 5TX do you recommend ? i am leaning more towards the enhanced boost one simply  because for se846 i can keep it at 1 and for planner he400i i can jump to 2 and i wouldnt be craving for anymore bass do you think it will work this way ? or the bass will be too much on the enhanced version ? the second question is as 846's are quite sensitive will there be any hiss from 5tx as of right now there is zero hiss or background noise coming from hm 650 with minibox amp and last how can i totally bypass its DAC ? i want to use my HM 650 as a DAC and use 5tx purely as an AMP so how can I achieve that ?

Thanks in advance

@zolom what else did you use and how does it compare to arrow 5tx?

I tried the following settings with the SE846 and LG G4:
  1. LG G4 with SE846 with and without V4A
  2. LG G4 with SE846 and RSA Shadow amp (with and without V4A)
  3. LG G4 with SE846 and FiiO E18 (with and without V4A) via USB audio
  4.  LG G4 with SE846 and Arrow 5P (with and without V4A) via USB audio and analog audio
  5. LG G4 with SE846 and Arrow 5TX (with and without V4A) via USB audio and analog audio

The best results were obtained by: LG G4 with SE846 and Arrow 5TX with V4A via USB audio

note: you have to configure V4A to your liking (and kind of music), as well as toggle the 5TX's tone switches.
