Three reviews for those interested in the SE846.

I read that absurdly stupid review in the NYT that the Forbes reviewer mentions; I`m glad he thought it was as dumb as I did...

Thanks for posting these.

i also read the review in the nytimes and thought it a silly review...not because they made any criticism which i regard as a positive if it is well researched but in this case it was a lazy review adding nothing to the discussion of the product!

I sent in my SE535s a few days before I got my SE846 for warranty repair.

Guess what.

Shure replaced my SE535s with a brand new sealed box of SE846s. They must have been out of stock of 535 replacement? The turnaround time was quite long after they got them in the mail.

Now I have two pairs. But now I can't compare the 535 with the 846. First world problems... +100000000000000 for Shure customer service. They just won over a customer for life.

I have certainly never had bad experiences with Shure's customer support.  Through repairs and replacements, I've gone from the initial batch of E500PTH years ago, through several SE530s, and now through two pairs of SE535s, without ever having to pay for an upgrade or service.  Truly top notch support.

That being said, I'm a bit jealous that you got a free pair of SE846s!  Congrats!  Although I've moved on to customs, I will always have a soft spot in my heart for the Shure house sound.  I've been eyeing the 846s since they were announced, but I can't justify paying that much for a universal right now.  I'll probably pick a pair up eventually...

Back on topic, congratulations!  I hope they go to a good home.

I remember years ago when I had to send in my SE530 for warranty work as the right side was developing a problem. They only asked me to send the earphones back, and I could keep all the accessories, including tips, cables, case and all that stuff. A week later a brand new case of SE530 arrived at my door step. So I then had two sets of supplies for all the accessories, with the extra tips. Too bad the SE846 weren't made back then.

But I agree Shure support is top notch.

Thanks guys! I'll probably sell these or give them to a friend/family. To be honest I was procrastinating sending those back for a LONG time. Didn't know how easy the RMA process was. Right earpiece was going, going, then gone, and for a month I just wore the left one (ridiculous I know). Now I'm glad I waited.
