Well, the A&K player can't magically correct for the Andromeda's low-frequency drop-off. Maybe it has a (full, warm...) characteristic that makes you forget about it, but it would still benefit from an extended low-frequency range.

Is it normal for the big black SE846 box not to be able to close? I would have guess there would be some sort of magnetic catch so that it would fully close. The box lid basically comes down fully but the flap doesn't close.

Just wondering if this is normal?

I have the SE846s and they sound fantastic out of the FiiO BTR3 bluetooth amp. The bass is incredible.

Are you sure nothing's pressing up against the lid from inside? I didn't mess with my set's box much but it looks like the top might not be shut all the way. Usually a little magnet catch will hold the flap against the box if you push it there if it's fully closed.

I'd recommend using the little square zipper case it comes with. If you're uncomfortable with them flopping around inside that case, there's a little net pocket you can tuck them in that will hold them in place. Or I suppose you could cut a piece of the foam from the big box to fit in there and have the little holes for them.

Finally back with 846s after black friday discount. First impressions, they went cheap on the box. I still have the box from 2015 and it came with the nice plastic case inside. It also closed properly. New one has no plastic case and doesn't close - like the photo above.

Having said that, don't really care about the box but if its important to you, something to note.

I have one question though, I tested removing the cable straight away and it was fine, but those little loose gold plates are very fragile. Are they important? Because I can see them breaking eventually.
