just check the top right graph on each page:

care for the attenuation values as the db scale isn't the same.

Isolation? The qc35 does a better job at drowning ambient noises with the exception of loud shrill voices. Read: kids

Or should the 846 make me feel like i am in a vacuum tube once its worn? Coz that's your description. Lol

LOL. I have quadruplets, so I know all about the kids thing and the loud shrill.

Z1r use a dynamic driver
Shure se846 use a b.a driver, this driver is more fast than dynmiic driver.
- This iem requieres a good dap.
- bass on the shure dont sound muddy.
- requieres good fit.
I cant believe people said " lack impact ".
They have a worse dap or worse fit, but the shure bass is very clean and the impact is like a thunder.

The SE846 NEEDS a low output impedance source/dap/amp, ideally less than 1 ohm. In the SE846's case if output impedance is 2-3 ohm or more then there will be bass roll off and some wierd frequency response anomalies will occur.

agreed on what's advised, not on the result. a source of higher impedance leads to louder bass/sub(because the 846 has higher impedance in the low freqs).
what can very much result in low freq roll off would be caps at the output of the DAP. with coupling caps the lowest the resistance of the IEM, the stronger the low freq roll off.

Does anyone know how the SE846 pairs with the Fiio x5iii?

Hi there is anyone using these with an AK300 ? If so are you pleased with the match?
I am looking for some new in ears after a little accident tonight with my other pair.

Any guidance really appreciated

Anyone have really dull / faded audio with iphone 7 using the included adaptor / Shure remote+mic? I upgraded to iPhone 7, and somehow the Shure SE846 sounds horrible - even the included lightning earpods sound much better.

I would appreciate any help.

it should be easily driven by the phone or any sources considering se846 low impedance.

did you try replacing the cables with another one in the package?

not sure how lightning with 3.5mm adapter could be an issue. also try other 3.5mm earphones into the adapter.... adapter could be faulty.

happened to me before everything was muddy, turns out that 3.5 was not pushed thru from 3.5 to 1/4 adapter.

hope this helps.

I just got my protalbe amp from onkyo last week Onkyo DAC-HA200

I got better bass with it than my iPhone 6 plus and richer sound but still not like my AV receiver from Onkyo HT-R593

When I connect my 846 to the AV receiver i got warmer sound and way better rich deep bass that i like the most  ( it's like having a subwoofer inside my ears )

The real problem here is the mids are harsh and i can't listen to my music on higher volume because of the harshness on the mids in the vocals or some instrument

For example the song The Chainsmokers - Don't Let Me Down (Illenium Remix) in this song the vocals are so harsh especially on 0:35 when she said ( i need you, i need you...) omg so annoying and painful to my ears
basshead.gif

I tried the black filter it reduces the harshness but its still there

If you will suggest EQ , am using apple music and their EQ sucks

My SE846 sounds amazing and the bass is the best bass and deepest one I've ever heard  but i can't enjoy it because the harsh mids hurting my ears on higher volume.
