I used to have se846. Now have he400i. I wonder if you guys have had or heard or have hd800 or th900. Or anything better than my 400I. Se846. Were clearer with better resolution. What you guys think? I have a mojo and I like electronic music and pop and classic rock

I have both se846 and HD800S with mojo. Base on my experience HD800S farrrrrr better than se846.... It has more layerd sound compaied to se846.

I should hope so, for $700 more!

You are referring to this, correct?  https://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-HD-800-Reference-Headphone/dp/B00PXLX2TC/ref=dp_ob_title_def

It is an apples and oranges comparison, to my mind, as those are open-back (zero isolation) compared with an IEM boasting up to 37db isolation. Personally, I need the isolation, and the SE846 fills the bill nicely. But if I could listen to music in a quiet environment, I'd love to hear the HD800S, for sure!

You get a balanced cable with it. If you sell the balanced cable, the HD 800 S is cheaper than the original HD 800. So it's not exactly $700 more.

But the Shure SE846 can't be compared to the HD 800 S, since the HD 800 S is a reference headphone. The Shure SE846 with the modded blue filter is more close the HD 650 except that it has much better speed and clarity than it is to the HD 800 S.

i am buying a new pure solid silver cable for my se846.
my everyday combo is se846 + mojo + iphone 6. which line input do i need?  balanced or unbalanced?
thank you :)

err mojo and hugo are se dacs, TT has a balanced out xlr but hugo TT is also se dac, so is dave with balanced out xlr as well.. You are bypassing the iPhone dac but there is nothing balanced about that set up

If you don't feel the bass, it means tip fit is not as tight as it should be. So the air pressure is leaking out, resulting in the low bass quantity. Correct size silicone tips can provide almost same seal quality as foam. Try the bigger ones :)
