Bench desk #3 … Still working on the rack
Not completely sold on this shelf system for desk - may need to remove the one eq and one tape deck to bench #2

Stand upgrade: Grumpy Goose obtained!

Other than cleaning and testing a pair of backup power tubes, I’m set.
Sonic/musical pleasure galore.
Comfortable as all get-out, too.
👍❤️😊

Great catch! I have the next-to-smallest passive monitor ATC makes (SCM12 Pro, very plain 2-way in a 12 liter box), and that thing absolutely rocks my world. Real dynamic power, accuracy, sealed box/style bass (the best), and musicality (a rare combination).

Nice!

Not to de-rail the thread, but those are SCM-19As, the active tower model of the much-awarded SCM-19 passive stand-mounted speaker. Highly, highly recommended, and I’m sure the passive SCM-19 is excellent as well when powered sufficiently.

But I am sold on ATC’s active/power amp implementation. The transparency, imaging, and natural sound (when recordings have that) is more than enough to keep me happy for many, many years.

I recently added a compact subwoofer (a Totem Acoustics Storm in matching Cherrywood)- not because the SCM-19As can’t go pretty deep and rock out, but because I love having some deeper bass (the Storm goes down to about 26 Hz).
🤘😊🤘

Active-powered ATC is unbeatable. Such full-range, layered, natural sound 😯.

I don't even know how you build electronics that runs at 348°F. That's in the melting point range of solder. :O
The 211 tubes in some Cary amps I used to have ran at about 460F. Now that was measured with an inexpensive IR thermometer with questionable accuracy, but I don't think it's inaccurate to say that with all 4 of them lit up it was pretty darn toasty. 🤣

A friend of mine has had a pair of Jota monoblocks for a couple of decades.. She's always really liked those, but I haven't heard them in a long time. I remember really liking them back then.
