these came in recently. wasn't expecting them to be so big. can't fit them side by side on my rack which is a disappointment..

I think it looks kinda silly like this. totally messes up the look lol.. this config lasted about 5 minutes before the NAD M23 went back in.

Ralph @ Atma-Sphere says it is totally fine to stack them.. so next to the rack they go. wish they didn't make the units so big. a slightly smaller enclosure would have been great. there's a lot of empty space inside anyways.

don't mind the cable mess.. I'll fix that up soon. didn't have any audio-jewellery long xlr cables, so hooked them up with a utility set of 3m length canare star quads which I've had sitting in a drawer for almost 10 years now.

this is my first time using monoblocks. my other amps are Apollon Audio stereo 1et7040sa and NAD M23, both Purifi. i've had Kinki M7, another Apollon purifi (1et400sa) and Benchmark AHB2 previously. these monoblocks are extremely impressive..

there is a whole lot of detail in the music, but somehow there is also zero sibilance/edginess/etchiness. felt like there wasnt enough bass initially but seemingly on only day 2, the low end has filled in substantially. these monoblocks definitely sound different from my Purifi gear; a bit warmer, slightly fuller on the midbass region, slightly rounded up top. it is a very pleasant sound.

I tried the wa33 as preamp into the monoblocks. it's not really my cup of tea; I somehow never really enjoyed the wa33 as a preamp. it is clean and clear, but also a bit lean. I think it is much better as a headphone amp.

much prefer the monoblocks from the Meitner MA3. this setup sounds fab, comparatively more body and weight/density, more slam and low end, and seems a more sensible setup especially for running in the amps during the day (dont want to use up tube life when not listening). I will try hook up the monoblocks to my Cary SLP-05 preamp this weekend and see how that goes.

Manufacturer suggests 400 hrs running in. I'm already very happy with them so far.

Have all the stereo gear in one room now for the most part aside from my Elacs in the office, but I rarely use the office any more -- only for stuff that's not possible on a cell phone. Got sent recently a 20 foot pair of XLR cables to run out of the Eversolo into the Lyr (using XLR/RCA adapters). Sounds fantastic. Now I can use the Eversolo to run my TV input (plus internal streamer) to either the stereo system or the headphone system with just the touch of a button. All I need to do is order up some tung sol replacement tubes for my Lyr 3 and I'll be in audio heaven (currently using JJ my second runner up). The Lyr pairs well with the Eversolo from just a few hours of testing I've done. I'm really loving the DMP-A6 it basically has done eveything I wanted. The DCA Aeon RT CB are my current headphones.

Interesting scenery...a camera and a stick-supporting door handle; who is it preventing from coming inside :)

Cheers!

So do you have a timer set, so the tubes are warmed up, when you wake up :sunglasses:

What do I care about what I said yesterday. After I got so hooked on my Rega Apollo CDP, I bought a Rega Isis. And I exchanged my Hifiman Susvara for my Utopia 2022 again..
That's it.
