I'm in the same boat. Def. throws a curve when shopping for tube amps - esp. if you're looking for 0 negative feedback
Might want to consider the Valhalla? It played nice with my iBasso SR2's (16 Ohm) and was great with my Clears today. I might even try my Grado's tomorrow. Cheap amp and a pretty good sound. Getting itchy to roll tubes. I haven't even run through my test list yet. That has to be tomorrow.:relaxed:

Nothing was done for 3 days when I receive these for evaluation.

Are any of these amps a spud design Matt ?

When I was heavy in the Grado sound I used a MadEar+HD and it had incredible synergy with my Grado's

Ok Spud... I suppose it is - Special project under development. :relaxed:

I was shopping for a tube amp for my Gradofication. So I turn to Eric, the tube amp builder. 3 of these will power most headphones not just Grado. Most importantly they have to be silent and sound good and they are.

The amps are:-
  1. 6as7/5998 3w amp - uses good quality Russian K40y-9 PIO capacitors.
  2. 6y6g/6v6 3w amp - this is optimized for 6y6g but will also run 6v6 tubes. Uses good quality Russian K40y-9 PIO capacitors.
  3. 6ew7/6fd7 2w amp - Direct coupled - no caps.
  4. 6s3p 1w amp - ONE stage only.
They are all great with Grados and HD800 but No.2 is my fav and likely will be my purchase but I have another parallel 6bx7 to evaluate.

And there it is. Reminds of the time when I interacted with Glenn. The amp is traditional old school, simple and cost effective. The sound is drop dead gorgeous.

I'm using Brimar CV455 KB/FB Footscray (12AT7) as driver and RCA 6Y6G as power tubes. Rectifier is 6BW4.
