Shanling Q1 - Retro-Styled Portable Hi-Fi Music Player

Fine. I've installed streamwhatyouhear on my WIN10 NUC for audio output to DLNA and it works with MP3@320 bitrate. Will there later be PCM input enabled, too?

http://www.streamwhatyouhear.com/download/

Not exactly sure how this software works, but on Q1 there is no limitation to just mp3 files.
Using for example Foobar and its UPnP plug-in, it works with Q1 fine on all PCM files, including Hi-Res.

Thanks for your response.

I am someone who doesn't use any kind of "files" anymore. I am only using streaming services like Tidal Hifi, Google Play Music (now YT Premium), Deezer or Amazon Prime Music and such.

Since Bluetooth audio output with Windows PCs is still limited to SBC, my original use case for the Q1 was as an USB audio to BT LDAC transmitter.
But now that the Q1 got Wifi and can act as a UPnP/DLNA renderer, I needed some service that can redirect any PC audio to a renderer in my home network.

Of course there is some lag, which makes it uslesess for video consumption.

Most video software allow to set audio delay for such cases, I would recommend to check some of the advanced settings.

@Shanling I don't know if this was brought up before. I just received my Q1, and I browse by album artist then select an album. After finishing going over the album, it just goes on loop instead of going to the next album. Is there a way I can fix this? I have Folder Skip turned on and my Play Mode is List Play. Thanks in advance

Folder skip is only for folder mode.

Man, I just wanted a more continuous listening exp. Can't even sort the albums by year. Those are my only gripes. Great player though
Why not use folder view and include the year in your folder names? I always name mine like 'YEAR - ALBUM NAME'. I hate messing about with mp3 tags unless I have to so I always use folder view on players that have it (i.e. everything apart from an iPod).

Folder skip works only for folders. There is currently no setting to allow skipping to next album.

yeah, i might have to resort to that. It's just that I have already fixed all the tags for flac files on my computer. To be frank, i'm a sucker for seeing all those thumbnails with the album art in the Shanling Q1, I like the aesthetics. Whereas my folders are all over the place :frowning2: ah well

Folder skip works only for folders. There is currently no setting to allow skipping to next album.

noted on this. Thanks! Would be a nice to have in future updates! :)

@Shanling is this a valid reason for return? Noticed led screen bleeding on my device. Received this less than a week ago

You can discuss it with your seller.
We do not consider this to be hardware issue covered under warranty.

side buttons way too sensitive. button lock on!! otherwise very much enjoying this little gem of a player.

I have the same issue. Drives me crazy. I've decided to move on from this device.

Thanks for that. I'll leave a note for the new owner of my device.
