Just got the Q1 and have to say disappointed so far.
Updated to 1.4 with no issues but bluetooth does not like my Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless v2 which work fine with all my other players.
I get a buzz in the right ear, Q1 connects for about 30 seconds and automatically disconnects. Will not play at all.

Just to add earphones keep recycling through "connected" to "power on" which implies somehow the Q1 is shutting them down and then trying to reconnect. But they never stay connected long enough to play music.

and another issue is when you have Q1 set to "car" the car does not recognise it when plugged into usb. You have to turn this off and then my car recognises it as a USB source.
I guess I should have tried before I bought. Going to send back and get the CT10 albeit more money. Very disappointed but you get what you pay for I guess.

no dap can be recognized by car USB interface. The ''car'' mode is for Q1 detect when it usb have powered/unpowered will auto switch on/off , this function is for user setup handphone Bluetooth > Q1 > lineout > car aux

try update your Sennheiser firmware. a lot tws bluetooth gears out there still have unstable issue even connect to smartphone. i use Q1 connect to my tws speaker so far work fine.

Sennheiser up to date. Shanling just don’t play nice with them.

We are looking into the situation with these Sennheisers.

Car mode is set for use Q1 as analog source, we didn't test it as USB source for car stereo.

Any word on Canadian distributor? I moved away from the Q1 in favor of the Hiby R3 Pro Saber because I want a linux based DAP. But the price in Canada for the R3 Pro is to high for me. This brings me back to the Q1 as the next best option. I am in no hurry to get another DAP so if you are close to getting a Canadian distributor I can wait until that happens. Right now my only option for the Q1 is to import from musicteck.com and am looking for other options that don't require importing from China.

I just got my Q1 this week. No problems. Great little device. Very happy.

I just wanted to point out some apostrophe problems. I use beets to tag all of my files but there are occasional spacing issues.

Some tracks work as intended:

While other tracks put a long space after the apostrophe:

I realise that some of my tracks were tagged with an apostrophe rather than a tick but I feel like the large space shouldn't be there.

Despite that, love the player, looking forward to future updates. By the way, is there a way to change the lock screen background?

To add additional lock screen images:
• Create “lockscreenimage” folder in root folder of Micro SD card.
• Copy in up to 5 images.
• All images must be PNG or JPG, resolution exactly 360 x 400, under 1MB

Thanks @Shanling I will send you some files later if I remember. It is just a tagging difference. Here for example, LINK, you can see that whoever made this entry on MusicBrainz used the ’ which is the "Right Single Quotation Mark" (U+2019) and not the ' "Apostrophe" (U+0027). You can see the same thing HERE. I will just change my tags when I see this occur and update MusicBrainz at the same time.

My main purpose for it is as portable laptop USB-DAC and USB->BT transmitter for LDAC, aptX and AAC codecs. The bluetooth connection between the Q1 as transmitter and my Shanling UP4 as receiver works as intended, although with each connection, the codec alternates between LDAC and aptX, that may need the attention of Shanling developers.

That's exactly what I am looking for, considering the Q1, the Hidiz AP80p and the Hiby R3p. How do you find BT stability and reach with the Q10? I use only LDAC, as I have Sony headphones.

I have an issue - I cannot connect to Q1 when music is not playing. I have to manually start playback using DAP and then connection is perfect. I am usinf recent FW 1.4.

Please what version of Shanling Music are you using? I just tested latest V1.9.1 and it shows no such problem. I can connect to Q1 and start playback from the phone.

I just bought the Shanling Q1, quite a good portable and small set, excellent battery life and no frills. Good BT connectivity. It is almost perfect for me except sometimes I find the midbass of the Q1 a bit too soft, slow and lacking impact. But probably will try EQ options to see if this midbass can be fixed.

For digital filters, you can spend days on Google, searching up different articles. From technical explanation of what the filter actual do, over theory behind why this one is better than other, to passionate discussions on forums why certain filters sucks and why other people are deaf.

My advice, listen for yourself and decide which one you prefer ( or if you hear the differences at all), in the end it's a lot about personal preference. Default setting of our engineers is Minimum slow, while I personally strongly prefer the Linear fast.

I have found the problem - Q1 was in Standby Mode. That's I could not connect via BT.
