I like it! It is very musical. Black background. Excellent treble extensions and sparkle. To me. I am listening to it right now with the FitEar DC Ti/Ode to Laura. Female vocals are seductive.

Yes! Shanling has recanted and have gone back to their house sound.

Sweet! I have the M8 and have had it for a while and as long as it keeps going, I'll keep it. It's a very good DAP which combines the voices of the Cayin, iBasso, Astell&Kern into one great voice, that is transparent and musical. There's not an IEM that I've had that it can't drive. Also drives the Meze LIRICs really well.

I only have the SP3K Cu. Different house sound. AK tends to still have clear and distinct edges even in Cu. Shanling tends to be more liquid. Yet, it has black background and the details really stand out as a consequence. Regardless of its more organic/warmer sound.

BTW, amazingly, the first shipment of the Shanling M9 Plus at Jaben Singapore that only arrived 24 hours ago has sold out! Fortunately, the next shipment is supposed to arrive next week.

And Jaben still has its demo unit for testing in the meantime.

I recall one of the few issues I had with the original M9 was when Roon first came out with Roon ARC. It was subsequently fixed by @Shanling and team.

So, it was with some trepidation that I set up Roon ARC on the M9 Plus. I am happy to say that it works nicely! Kudos to the Shanling team!
