In my opinion the M6 21 is warmer of these two.
The best choice would be the old M6, that was warmest.

I am using the Shanling M6 (21) as USB DAC and after some time the DAP just crash and it's impossible even to turn it on again.

What would be the problem? I am using that last driver.

I found the problem: I was using USB-C <=> USB-C cable. When I changed it to USB-C <=> USB-A everything started to run smoothly.

But I am encountering some serious problems using it as a USB DAC. It's very common in the middle of songs to have some relatively loud bursts, especially when I'm playing DSD files. Can you fix this via firmware update? This is irritating and can even damage my hearing!

Other questions I have are:

As USB DAC it doesn't unfold from MQA?

As USB DAC it can't go up to 32bit/768Khz, why?

I bought the M6(21) to be my DAP and my only DAC for everything. If these problems continue I will sell it soon.

I would really appreciate an answer from you @Shanling

Anyone know of a otg USB adaptor similar to apples camera connection kit except obviously usbc) that will work with the M6 21 > DAC? iOS tidal has issues so trying to use M6 as my source, so need to pass a clean pcm to a mqa enabled dac. I bought a type c to usb adaptor but it isn't giving me passthrough to my dac so it can handle unfolds. Or maybe I'll need to just buy a streamer ...

Well I found one on Amazon and it works, except I can't charge while I listen for some reason like I can with the cck/ipad. My dac is a M2 tech Young Mkiii/Vgii Mqa, I'm having issues with it working with tidal unfortunately it only displays pcm not mqa I was hoping it was a tidal iOS issue but it did the same thing with M6.

Try to run it with volume at M6 set to 100%.
In our testing it works just fine with MQA output to USB DACs.
