That is not true.
I've asked one dealer. He said that the shipping date has changed(again) to 10/12/18.
And in twitter shanling answered me(16/1118) that they will get m0 and m5s in coming "weeks".
Did you mean "coming months"?
Did you hear this from musicteck? They've not given any update to me after saying 11.26.... that'd be a bummer. Id almost want to go with the dx120 for now if I can't get this by Christmas.

Due to our current move of factory, we are little bit limited in amount of M5s produced in each week, so while some units starts to ship next week(for example Musicteck's), others will ship 1-2 weeks later.

@Shanling - what do you think of existing an 2nd option of Shutdown in the screen instead of pressing 5 second in the wheel.

it could be in the swippe down screen icons.

We are quite happy with current solution. Why would you want to add another way to turn off device?

Simple

Because everytime someone as to turn off the device.
It is allways need to wake the device and press the button 5s until the screen appreas to confirm.

A second option, would be more pratical.

The button will be allways needed because off hard reset.

My device as crashed 3 times... the last time was with dad file.

I forced to turned it down as it was unresponsive.

And played the same song to see if the file was corrupted. And nothing whapped.

So it was the device.

So instead of waking up device and holding button for 5 second, you prefer to wake up device, go into slide menu and press software button? Not sure how much practical that would be. Holding down button for X second is standard way how you turn off almost all modern devices.

Regarding crashes, what firmware are you using?

1st question - I would prefer a 2 step and faster way to turn the device off.

Current way is 3 steps.

2nd question - version 1.4 the last one.

Thanks for answer.

Android OS needs unneccesary heavy resource for the processing chip which should be used for "pure music" instead! I would say just a little bit be patient:disappointed_relieved:. May be you are lucky to get the M5s before Xmax!

Huh? I don't think it'll be a problem based on what shanling just said, I'm pretty sure I was preorder #1 for musicteck.

Anyway, the dx120 doesn't run Android, it runs mango. I realize for my purposes I don't need Android. I have a hiby r6 and most of the features are wasted on me.

I would not care whether a DAP is Android based or not as long as it would be ready to stream music via WiFi from the Qobuz platform as well as from a Synology NAS.
A player not capable to do this is of no interest for me. Hope Shanling will be ready to handle both scenarios somewhen...

Do we actually think sound quality varies alot from dap to dap? I was listening to the out dated first gen fiio x5 last night through Focal Clears. The sound was very good. And Im no amateur

Are you comparing X5 to anything specific where you don't hear the difference in sound?

You know just because a dap is older don't necessarily mean it will sound worse than something new. I think as enthusiasts we are always lead to believe anything newer means it has to be better. One thing I noticed is there are new features added minus something like a DX120 from ibasso but that is the rarity.

I think it also depends on what your pairing the dap with that makes a big difference. This is the sole reason why I like a variety of daps. I own way too many earphones to just have one dap be the source. Sometimes an older source actually sounds better than a new one depending on synergy. My older DX90 and Pono player still sounds great as ever. This being said I am always looking out of new advancements in sound for the money. I think Shanling has done a great job in that department so I am looking forward to the M5s. Can't wait.
