I am almost 5% off ordering the Shanling M5s but still have the following questions:

@Shanling
a. Is the implementation of the sort function "genre / album" planned for future firmware?
b. Does the player have Line Out, Coaxial Out or Optical Out?
c. Is a feature like Hiby Link planned for the future? It would be nice to connect the player to the home audio system via USB Audio Out and control it via iPhone and search in the library.

I am torn between those or a dx 150. I like what the DX 150 offers for only $70 more with the switchable amps but it is a big dap and some say it’s hard to even fit in a pant pocket

For all the soon to be owners of M5s, here is Advanced user manual if somebody would need it: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1yFIskI9TJtN2ceNPdlmjk6RoLdBzTxZ0

A. Should be easy to add genre, we have it already running in this style for composer (don't ask me why we made Composer tag before Genre, I guess Chinese really love their classical music).
B. It has software line out, no dedicated line out. It has USB digital out, no coax or optics.
C. It's in works, we have some beta version of the app. I was actually doing translation for it this week.

@Shanling do you recommend any burn in time for the m5s or do you view that as nonsense?

Well, we do run in on all our products as part of QC. Otherwise no comment on this interesting aspect of audiophilia.

My recommendation, listen to it as it arrives, but if you have some spare time, let it play on your shelf. Just for peace in your soul.
(But this is coming from somebody who believes he heard difference in sound of speakers according to angle of piece of cloth placed on top of them)

@Shanling are there any plans to produce a soft film screen protector for the M5s? Miss having this, coming from the M3s.

Received mine early this week. The hiss is greatly improved compared to the M3s, almost unaudible.
Enjoying it with my BGVP DMG and Meizu Live. :gs1000smile:

The FW still has some rough edges, hope it will be resolved over time. I'm on the latest FW 1.4.

I have asked Shanling for the screen protector, but the answer from him was "not any plan yet !" Besides the "hiss improvement", what do you think that are better than M3s (or other DAP)?

That's a really useful graphic, but it does lead me to question how in the hell the filter names
Make any sense at all. "Super slow roll off" and"sharp roll off" appear to be reversed... Is there an explanation of this terminology that I'm missing?

Sounds great so far :)

@Shanling
One more thing: Is it possible to change the font size? And is the text in the song and album view displayed as continuous text or is it static?

Font size can't be changed. Currently text in menus is static, in firmware update we will add "swipe to scroll" from M0.

Hi Shanling.. when can i order a titanium color?

Most of others M5s orders will be shipped this week, last units are going to be shipped next week.

Names are based on the technical description of used filter, have nothing to do with audiophile terms.
