Shanling M3X Portable Player - Our smallest Android Player

Installed update with no immediate issues noted. Still no gapless or album artist sort in the Shanling player that I could find. Not a big deal to me but others might care....
Trust me, when we get gapless into our app, it will be posted with big letters on all posters.

@Shanling FYI, I have noticed that the OTA update was horribly long. I stopped it after 2 min because only 8.5 Mo was downloaded (Server 1, I didn't check the 2nd). In comparison, downloading the update manually via Google Drive took me 20s (for the entire 1.2 Go file).
It's running on Chinese servers and can be quite slow. Download from Google drive is always faster option.

@Shanling Just FYI, using the 1.4 build, the hiccup when waking the device is still intermittently present — wireless, when using LDAC Sound Quality at least.
Noted.

@Shanling
After the software upgrade ithe M3X works fine connected to an external dac
Alright. Which DAC you tried, just to know?

I am getting the sense that the R5 and the M3X are "cut from the same cloth". I almost wonder if HiBy helped Shanling with the design. That used to be HiBy's business model.
We stopped cooperation with Hiby after M3s. Form 2018 we are developing all software in house, with no connection to HiBy.

I agree... Note that the posts are in Japanese.

Yes, great account to follow to keep up to date on the DAPs.

@Shanling. I’ve just updated the firmware. It appears all the Library issues still remain ie same album titles show together, alphabetical listing where ‘The’ is the first word of a band is mixed up etc. Can you confirm these issues were not dealt with on this update or do I need to do something different to scan them and resolve those issues ie a reset so that all files are scanned rather than just new ones?

Not in our notes, but it's possible it was adjusted. Best to try to clear app data and do fresh library scan.

First of all, thank you all in this thread for your feedbacks. It was very helpful before I made the decision to go and get my Shanling m3x.

I've just tried first to update it but it seems that the file in google drive were deleted by someone. @Shanling maybe you could help ?

I just checked and it's still there for me. Maybe just a glitch.

Thanks a lot man!! Thanks for your recommendation. The M3X is surely a perfect device and everything I wanted is there.

Actually, the most I was worried about was about the UI being laggy or something(Previously used DX160, and believe me I have never used a laggier device than that, though sonically it's perfect). To my surprise the UI of M3X is damn smooth, I am using UAPP on it with a 400 gigs card loaded with approx 4000 flacs and it offers smooth performance. Also tried Spotify streaming over wi-fi the battery life is a dream come true for an Android DAP.
