Does the M3s pass decoded analog audio output via the USB-C port, such that I could feed the output to an amplifier via some sort of USB-C to RCA/3.5mm cable? I haven't been able to find a USB-C to RCA/3.5mm analog cable that doesn't also have a built-in DAC. I'm hoping to get the analog output that has been produced by the M3s DAC as a line-out from the USB-C port.

I don't believe that any of the Shanling DAPs have an analog output on the USB-C connector.

No, you can't do that.
What would be even point? Why not use standard jack to RCA cable?

What would be even point? Why not use standard jack to RCA cable?

My understanding is that turning on the line out setting on the standard 3.5mm output jack of the M3s is just a shortcut to turning the volume up to 100 but that this isn't a true line out as is included on some other players. So I was inquiring after the USB-C as a possible source of this for feeding an amplifier.

But you would need to have the whole inside changed to accommodate for this, the "true" lineout to USB-C. At which point, it would be easier to just lead it to standard 3.5 mm jack.
