Paused with screen off, went to resume a few minutes later and sound took quite a few seconds then what came out a garbled distorted mess, what fixed it was unplugging my headphones. Tried to recreate the problem right after and music wouldn't play, had to restart the player.

I really wish it were possible to adjust the volume during that delay at start of playback. I know that's up to Hiby and not likely to happen. So I'm looking forward to your releasing more DAPs with your own firmware.

I thought I saw an official looking announcement - somewhere - that indicated the current models, which were developed with HiBy Music, have been discontinued.
The M0 is the first of their new models, which will all have their own in-house developed music playing software and UI.

I think there will be something new in the near future. Maybe a M5 follow-up and something between M2s and M3s... .

I think they said M1 and M2s will no longer be produced and M3s has another production run and show up in stock in September.
I'm excited to see what Shanling will have to offer in the near future. I will say, surprised how quickly the turnover was for that line.

Shanling said that the M1s and M2s are out, but the M3s should keep for a bit... and about stock, that's what they said quite rcently (couple of pages ago) :

Due to some shifts in production plans, production of M3s was limited. There will be restock coming in September, but just to few distributors.

You re right.So a M5 follow up comes first, then someting in the M1s, M2s range and later a M3s ... maybe.... .

I recently got my M3s second hand about a month ago, may put it up for sale soon in the US if anybody is interested. Its a great player but my ES100 just covers all bases now that it has LDAC support

Other posters are right, M1 and M2s slowly running out of stock, M3s has LAST run planned for September, but it will be coming only to few distributors that preordered it.
