That, you can do yourself with the theme tools shanling has put up in another thread. It unpacks the entire firmware as well, so you could play around with it as well, if you can handle it.
I've never realized the brightness setting was actually very low but then again I've never used the player in the middle of the road on a sunny day. I'm assuming you're probably running with it or something? If the M3S has hardware limitations regarding brightness, I think one solution for this would be to use HibyLink and just control the player from your phone (it's very likely you're bringing your phone when going out, if you don't then this won't be the solution for you). I believe brightness is not something a software update can fix, but then again it could be something the developers missed, let's see what Shanling has to say.
@Shanling I have question about DSD output. D2P is DSD unpacked by the M3s before it goes to another DAC. DoP sends the information to another DAC then lets that DAC unpack it. What is Natvely?
Or did I get that all wrong?

D2P - converts DSD to PCM, sends it as PCM and is decoded as PCM
DOP - Packs DSD in PCM package, but decoding is done as DSD
Native - Sends DSD without need to convert it to PCM package and then back

Great device, however screen was too dim for me, scroll wheel is just scrolling two items occasionally. However I found this to be superior to my AK Kann that I have owned recently (yes, exactly, however you might have thought this unlikely),.
@Shanling I am getting a boot loop while charging. If I unplug, it'll boot normally. At this point, if I were to charge it, everything starts to lag. Works fine if it was unplugged. This has been a recurring issue since the v1.5 firmware update.
