Hi,
I am facing the exact same issue! Could you please provide a quick update on the situation and how to resolve it?
Thanks in advance :)

User you quoted didn't post here again in few months.

Did you tested your card in different device as I recommended?

I used it using a normal SD card adapter to transfer files. In both cases, for some reason, it doesn't read beyond 33-34GB. As in files are being transferred in full, but later they disappear from the folder. and folder shows it occupies 0 bytes.
I am using a Sandisk 256GB card bought and fulfilled by Amazon US. I am guessing the SD Card is faulty.

If anything above 32GB disappear, you got fake card. You wouldn't be the first one to get fake card from Amazon, even if sold directly by them.

Hi @Shanling or anyone who can help me with this important question,

I am using the Shanling M2x player with Etymotic ER4XR headphones, and also sometimes the BLON03 and Sennheiser HD600. But usually the Etymotics.

I want to make sure that the volume is set at a safe level, especially as I have tinnitus and I don't want to aggravate it.

I realize that some tracks are louder than others (especially as I'm using the last version of the firmware which does not standarize the volume between tracks).

Usually 85db is considered a safety cutoff, I believe. So I suppose I wouldn't want to get above 75db on any track. But I dont know, you know what I'm saying, I just want to keep the volume in a safe zone.

Any suggestions about what the max volume I should set with the Etymotics ER4XR? Or the others? Or in general? How high do you let the volume creep with your various headphones and the M2x?

I'll be using low gain, never high gain.

Thank you very much for any ideas. I don't have the technical knowledge to figure it out myself based on specs. I do have a dB meter program on my ipad but I have no idea how reliable it is.

THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This can highly change from one song to another, only way how to adjust it would be to set replaygain for your files and then set volume limit accordingly. Otherwise you will end up with maximum that's too high or too low for some songs.

For volume level, you can try to set up microphone with some type of coupler for earphones, run white noise and see at which volume you would get at 75dB. And then hope that 75dB is loud enough for you to actually enjoy music.

Thank you for your response.

Only the most current firmware has the replaygain function, is that correct? I am not using it because the equalizer in it is not functional. I hope the next firmware includes both the replaygain function, and a working equalizer. And also the nice clean theme #2 that was cut from the current firmware. :smile_phones:

Thank you for the advice about testing the volume level. I'm not sure what the db level is, but I'm finding that listening with the volume level at around 40-55 with the Etymotic ER4XR and BLON03 feels safe to me. (I'd be very curious about what others have to say about this.) I know what you mean about hoping 75dB is enough. Listening for any length of time at a volume level much higher than that can come at a cost, though. Anyway, for many tracks it's enjoyable at that volume.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@Shanling

I was wondering if anyone has reported problems with the M2X player yet in terms of battery life and bluetooth connectivity?

I received my player back in July in the UK and I had upgraded from the M2S which was amazing. The problem I have is the poor battery life, if my player is fully charged and then shut down correctly, when I use it again the next day, the battery can show as low as 54% for some reason, then the player is be lifeless after a short while. I also sometimes have a problem when I connect bluetooth from my Samsung Galaxy S10, when it connects, the player just powers down.

I have factory reset the device, updated it to the latest firmware, but I am still getting issues. My Shanling M2S was a solid little player with none of these issues, however this one isn't giving me much faith?

Anyone else experiencing these kind of symptoms?

Thanks in advance,

BhavikLDN

If you are experiencing any issues with player discharging while powered off, you can contact your original seller about it. They can test it and repair/replace your unit.

Do you see such Bluetooth problem with any other Bluetooth device?

My IEMs broke today and I'm thinking about buying FinalAudio E3000C. Does M2X support controllers in IEMs?

In-line controls are not supported on our players.

I recently got a pair of the Haylou GT1 plus TWS earphones to try to use with the M2X. From my experience, the M2x can't seem to generate enough volume to support these earphones, even using the high-gain setting and turning the volume to 100% on the M2X. There is no way to increase the volume of the GT1 Plus earphones independently from the source, so unless you only use very low volumes to listen to music, then the GT1 Plus earphones do not seem to be a good match for the M2X. On the other hand, the GT1 Plus work well with the iphone... If anyone else with the M2X has had the same or a different experience with the Haylou GT1 Plus earphones, I hope you will report it. Also, has anyone used a different TWS earphone with M2X, and, if so, did they work well? Thanks in advance.

Auto-shut down option seems to disable itself from time to time. I had to set it already 3 or 4 times (this bug however hasn't been introduced in the latest update, I had it before that). I often use sleep timer so I guess it may be somehow connected. Anyone else?
There is without a doubt something wrong with the auto-shutdown option. This happened to me too many times already. I never change this option (I have it set to 5 minutes), yet I have to re-enable it from time to time when I see my device is not turning off itself like it should (then I enter the options and the feature turned off for some reason). I tried to trigger this bug by turning off the device both with sleep timer and auto-shutdown options but to no avail. I guess it's too random.

One thing to try - Connect your earphones to iPhone, play music and turn volume to max. Then disconnect them. Reconnect to M2X and see if it changed.
Other thing to try, if possible - Delete them from M2X, factory reset the earphones and pair them again.

In past we found iOS sometimes messes up with the volume setting on connected earphones.

But m2x can be still paired up with such headphones, right? Does single out support both CTIA and OMTP jacks?

OMTP is quite old standard, so not sure if we have any earphones to try it. CTIA works fine.
