Hi Shanling,

I face a common problem with the Bluetooth, and it´s that every time I turn the device on and use Bluetooth transmission for the first time it sounds high pitched and the sound has gaps and other problems. This is solved as soon as I turn Bluetooth off and on again, so I think it can be solved via firmware.

I have this problem when I connect the device both to my Sony h.ear go speaker and my car.

Hope you can come with a solution in the next update!

Well, this is first comment of this type regarding high pitch noise. When you connect your headphones for the first time, does player show SBC or aptX connection (I assume they have aptX, Sony specification website is not helpful)? Was it running without problem on previous firmwares?

First, I managed to somehow de-atach the volume knob, I guess that throwing it at the very bottom of the bag with around 20 Kg of stuff on top of it was a bit careless of me. I have actually been concerned about the knob, buuut... What is actually nice, the knob is not broken, just got a little loose, I just popped it back in place, so M2s is truly not an issue for daily usage, I can safely throw it with hard stuff in my bag, making it one of the most ideal ultra-portable device solutions, especially with its ultra-high endurance.

My volume/select control is broken too, it must have had a minor bump somewhere. I'm very careful with my stuff, so it was a surprise. Mine is stuck in select mode, so when I scroll up and down it selects automatically, its not usable to be honest, and its probably not worth sending it back overseas.

@Shanling

I would like to make a F/W suggestion, how about disabling the volume select altogether, perhaps via a power-on key selection sequence.

In this mode the the left hand side Prev/Next buttons could be used for menu navigation and play/pause as a select. For me that would be perfect as I mainly use the player with HibyLink anyway.

Unfortunately as you said it may not be cost effective to send it back to where you purchased it from. At least you can still use it in Hiby mode :D

I can but we (I know a few forum members have broken navigation wheels) won't be able to do anything that involves menu navigation. Its OK at the moment but if it needs connecting to a new phone for example then it will have to go in the bin.

I hope @Shanling can do something in the F/W for user with broken select wheels.

Interesting suggestion, not sure how likely to be implemented.

And for users with broken wheels, you can always contact your seller and deal with this under warranty. Here comes handy if you bought it from local dealer/distributor.

What's your best setup with M2s?
I'm currently enjoying TFZ Exclusive King with M2s. It's one of the best synergy I've heard yet.
What's yours?

I still truly enjoy my M2s in combination with Noble Sage.

Thanks for the suggestions, sadly I didn't buy it locally so returning it is not an option. Its currently on ebay, for spares or repair.

@Shanling. I still have the issue that when I first play a file the song starts a few milliseconds into the music not at the beginning. I select my music via folder mode.

Seems to me that you could update the firmware pretty easily to fix this; just make sure the buffer is filling a bit before playing music. Could you ask your engineers to look into this?

Thanks.

I don't know if you've gotten an answer to this yet. Here's how I got it to work.

My music is in folders structured like this on the microSD card (all in a top level folder called "Music"):

Music/<genre>/<artist>/<album>/<track> (e.g., Music/Pop - Rock/The Alan Parsons Project/The Turn Of A Friendly Card/01 - May Be A Price To Pay.flac)

My playlists are .m3u type. The examples I've seen of .m3u files online use backslashes, so that's what I use. It may not matter, forward slashes may work as well. The entry in the playlist file for the above example (relative pathname) is:

Music\Pop - Rock\The Alan Parsons Project\The Turn Of A Friendly Card\01 - May Be A Price To Pay.flac

I put the playlists at he top level of the card, same place as the Music folder (not in the Music folder or any other folder). Navigate to the playlist file with the file browser, click on the file to open it, scroll to any one of the entries in the file and click on it. It should start playing.

Anybody out the smarter in the ways of Linux able to tell me what to do with these: - mostly the kernel/ALSA buffering part

Trying to use the M2S in Daphile and I keep getting a damn clicking after about 10 minutes of playing - same thing seems to be happening in Win 10 using the stock USB2 audio drivers
