Sennheiser IE900 Review, Measurements, & Harman Target Talk

Mine say made in Germany on the case and also the stamp on the quality certificate is from Germany, but they were made on the 8th of Feb which is after when I read assembly had been moved to Ireland. Does this mean they were made in Germany or Ireland?
The "Made in..." designation is applied at the location of assembly (illegal to do otherwise).

Remember, these are made in batches and then spend time in transit, at the retailer, etc. Even though manufacturing has moved to Ireland, there are likely a handful of German-produced units that still haven't been sold. I've heard both; zero differences except the minor change in the zip case aesthetics. Because there is zero performance difference I am confident it will be a footnote in the IE 900's history, not a chapter.

Edit: great question btw!

Thanks for the answer, I don't mind either way but was just expecting made in Ireland so was surprised to see made in Germany.
Should probably say too that I really enjoy them! The bass is so clean, reminds me of my Denon d9200.

Regarding my IE600:
Today i had the single most surreal thing yet since i joined this hobby. Many of you know that i had purchased an IE600 from HifiGO and that it unfortunately came broken with one ventilation hole not being fully open. After HifiGO support wasnt really helpful i decided to ask @ericpalonen what i should do and he pretty much instantly reached out to me asking for my contact informations. One day later Jermo Koehnke (you probably know him from the introduction videos of the IE600 and IE900) wrote me. Because i live quite near to the Sennheiser facility in germany he actually invited me to come around, swap the pair in person and listen to some headphones while i am there. I was completely lost for words and couldnt believe this was actually put on the table. Obviously i instantly agreed and today i was there.
What should i say? This were like the best 3 hours of the hobby for me thus far. Jermo really took his time showed me around the office where the magic happens (obviously development ) and sat down with me. He also introduced me to the incredibly passionate people there that truly put their love into the products they design. He then gave me a lot of insight about the development of the new IEM lineup. He showed me a ton of case prototypes and why different things turned out the way they did. At the end i even had the chance to hear the Orpheus for the first time (best vocal representation i ever heard, im still stunned by it)
As the final icing on the cake he gave me an empty housing of the IE600 and IE900 as well as a tube housing of the freaking HE-1 as a little suprise gift. As an engineering student myself im probably gonna print a little holder for the IE900 case and put it in the tube as a showpiece.
Like i said this was one of the best experiences ive had and its truly remarkable with how much love and passion the people at Sennheiser work. I want to thank @ericpalonen and especially Jermo for this experience that truly gave me a unique connection to the company that i yet to have found in any other hobby or interest of mine.

So glad we could help! Jermo is terrific and has a great ear for the modern audiophile. Above all else the Sennheiser folks care so much about great sound and making people happy through it. Please share pics of your goodies when you can.

Omg, what an opportunity. You quickly went from unlucky to super lucky. Good for you, and props to the Senn guys for being so personable and caring to a single customer. Blown away by this story!

I hope customers don't start smashing their IE 600 on purpose 🤣

Of course. Let me show everything i got today 👀

My plan is to take the IE900 casing and put it in a synthetic resin which then goes in the HE-1housing. Probably gonna add a lightsource to shine from the bottom afterwards but still planning. Only got one shot at this 😅

Hi,
I was using my IE900 silicone ear tips (medium size) in the position for deeper insertion and I lost one.

I've been checking the Sennheiser website on a regular basis, under the spare parts section to see if I could buy a new pair, but no luck. They have been out of stock for awhile.

I even contacted customer service and they basically just said.......we are not selling them right now.....

I'm using another pair of ear tips in the meantime but It's very frustrating that I just can't find a site where I can buy a medium size pair of original Sennheiser silicone tips with the filters on them for my IE900.

Could a representative from Sennheiser help me? or maybe there is a head-fier that doesn't use his silicone tips that I can by from them?

Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

PS: My IE900 rock! they are my go to gear and I use them every day, and therefore my frustration because I really like the Sennheiser silicon tips. Thanks.

Any idea what the shipping cost would be to the US?

Nevermind, I found the info on the website. Thanks.
I just ordered 3pr of foam tips from audiosanctuary, and the shipping was about £5. FYI, I'm NC.

IE900 is so good with vocal jazz. Right now, Melody Gardot sounds phenomenal.

On size L foam tips, staging is intimate with forward vocals compared to the spacious Sony M9. I think ie900 suits well for this type of genre.

My last set had SN 13XX, and this time around, it's SN 67XX. I guess Sennheiser is selling these well. And looks like IE600 will be another hitter.
