Any ER4 users here, I swear the two sound so similar.
I loaded up a test track which happened to be Smooth Criminal (Ben Liebrand's Extended Remix)

Plugged the ER4XR into my Gryphon (all sound enhancements off) and had a listen, sounds quite nice indeed, the track is 7 minutes long and I listened one time through.

Then I quickly swapped to the ie900, wow this is like night and day. The first thing I noticed was the much larger soundstage in comparison to the ER4 then when the sub-bass hits the rumble is awesome when compared to the ER4's bass.

The highs too are better to my ears, both are quite good in the highs but for me the ie900 wins easily.

So no IMHO the ER4 is nothing like the ie900. Some may prefer one over the other but they most certainly don't sound alike.

The imagining of IE900 is so good that I actually forgot how proper imagining can sound like in an IEM. The imaging and tonality of IE900 are at the same level as ER4B to my ears.

God, I love dynamic driver IEM, I was hesitant to buy the IE900 as I was saving for Dita audio upcoming dream flagship, but I had to do it as the future IE900 are no longer going to be made in Germany and I want to have this unique IEM in my collection.

The fit is amazing, it is actually hat friendly, glasses friendly. You can wear it and lean your head on a pillow.

Null Audio for me all the way the past decade. Solder material matters to me, and I favour pure silver for best conductivity.

Brise audio are amazing but very heavy.

Yes agreed, it looks and feels amazing but I don't use it now, just too heavy unfortunately - especially with how light IE900 are.

Does IE900 get dragged down while running/walking with it? I assume it does since its heavy? I actually contacted them and almost bought it. Retails at JPY 55,000 with shipping fee JPY 7,500. Pretty expensive.

Yes I found I could only use while seated, it wasn't practical for walking - they at times fell out of my ears too, I spent a lot of time trying to position the memory wire to stay looped over my ear. Very expensive mistake on my part!

Update:

I've eventually settled on black Final Es... The OG silicon tips just didn't isolate well enough and I could tell a difference when I push the 900s against my ears. So far so good.

I recommend the ie300. Same size, plastic housing, very light. Wont move and sounds great.
