That's a good deal. No wonder you couldn't resist. You're a bit like me with Beyerdynamic T1s - I owned about 7 of them, although I think I'm over them now I own a set of hd800s's.

Sometimes I don’t give the headphone and myself enough time to get aquatinted and sell it on….or I need to finance another headphone I desperately need to try out. HD800S is always a good currency as it sells so easily….and then I miss it. T1 is very good, indeed but like you I am over it…despite being German.

Danish string quartet, wood works, so airy on hd800s with chord Dave. Nice ambient sound guys breathing as they’re going full pelt at traditional music.

Acquired a pair of these beauty's recently. Really fascinating how they present music. Having tried some other TOTL headphones like the Clear OG and Arya at a local retailer, none of them had this special presentation like the 800S, in sound and build both. Currently looking to get a nice custom cable made for these, but not many options to choose from in Europe sadly. Any recommendations ? Right now, Forza Audioworks seems like the best choice.

Why do you have 7 pairs?

I started a long time ago buying one, selling it on as I wanted something different and eventually bought another pair again…repeated the cycle again and again.
There certainly were some silent revisions going on as the newest one(serial 43 000 something) is definitely darker with more bass/body.
It’s just a marvellous headphone compared to all the other overpriced FOTs.

Not custom, but Cardas Clear is the best I’ve heard. Ain’t cheap.
