Sennheiser HD800 S Impressions Thread (read first post for summary)
Nov 26, 2022 at 8:05 PM Post #7,591 of 8,765
It may already have been addressed somewhere in the nearly 8,000 posts, but does anyone know how the HD800S works with the Violectric V281 amp? Currently using it with the Dan Clark Ether 2. Thanks
Use search

Is this secret code for telling me to go to the V281 thread? If not I'll need more advice on this
In-thread search.
It wont push you any where.
You really did not know the search function?

I think I understand what you're telling me. And no I did not quite understand how that search within a thread worked. So thanks, but I have to say it kind of came across as you saying learn how to use the search dumbbell. Apologies if I misunderstood

I had the HD800S with the V281 for about a year. They worked well together but I preferred the HD800S with a much cheaper hybrid amp - Xduoo TA-20. Then I got a Denafrips Artemis head amp and that is the best of the three. The Artemis was designed using the HD800S as the reference for its tuning.

Totally agree....the artemis and hd800s is magic...the strength of thr hd800s is enhanced

Does the Artemis/hd800s sound very detailed or is it more on the warm side? As I have read in reviews.
its warmer, yet detailed, yet the detail does not seem to be forced. It also feels darker because the treble feels further away, hence the illusion of a bigger and spacious stage.

A weird thing is with the ferrum oor/hypsos, i want to listen loud! With the artemis, i liked to lower down the volume and enjoy the space and elegance.

Heyall just pulled the blind trigger for Siltech Duchess Crown trying to make hd800s sound like 800. In case it didn't work, any suggestions, tweaks, and tips regarding how to tune hd800s to hd800? Largely appreciated!

While there are many mods to turn 800 to 800s, I am at a point to do the opposite to turn 800s to 800 without using EQ lol

OMG,

Not just the best but the only after market cable I love with HD800S!
Which series is this? Im still using the standard hd800s cable, thinking of a nice upgrade. I can get a good deal on a brise cable at around $500, but looking at more options. I love HD800s so much that im creating a whole backend for just fully optimising the hd800s :dt880smile:

Me too I prefer HD800s to almost all the insanely priced dynamics cans. It is Siltech Duchess Crown. I tried many hyped aftermarket cables here but preferred the stock cable. This one is the only exception so far.
