Excellent - i was searching 6 month to get a HP with a dip between 3 and 4 k.
I hated the really annoying peak of many hd800 near 3-4k

Here is my chart:

I never would sell therefore.

Maybe this diagramm can explain you the reason therefore

I know that diagramm, but when you listen something live, nobody says to the executor " play quietly when you are in 3k hz zone"!
what I mean is that what I know like violin timbre or piano timbre (for example) include my natural major sensitivity  to some frequency

I had some annoying HD800 during testing in the3-4k-Range, but this one was fine, and the dip between the 3-4k might be the reason.

I'm just making a generalization here based from some of the frequency response graphs posted in this thread, the newer HD800s have a peak at 6kHz region, whereas the older HD800s tend to be flatter.

The 2 earlier graphs with S/no. 25xxx and 26xxx above also shown a peak at the 6kHz.

S/no. 19xxxx

S/no: 27xxx
