Just got my HD800 cert. SN: 09xxx. Seems mine still has the nasty 6K peak.

So this means that the graph Sennheiser produce is of such low resolution that it does or does not show the peaks and troughs depending where the spot measurement was taken for each bar of the graph?

Just got the FR curve.
 
It seems to me that headphones with s/n of over 17000 has a flatter FR curve in particular at the HF range.  Mine is 12xxx and like others there is a peak at 6 kHz.

Not really. Mine is S/N 41XX and looks like you've got a slightly bigger peak at 6-7k than my pair.

My graph arrived today. I bought brand new pair from local dealer in January , but my serial number is in 14000's. I was pretty surprised, because I've seen lately serial numbers in 20000's. I asked for an explanation and they said that my pair wasn't refurbished one,
 
simply sat in the corner of the warehouse. I guess HD800 isn't  particularly hot item in Estonia.
 

 
 
There is some 6k dip, but it isn't as bad as I've seen on some other graph's and my previous HD800 had much hotter treble than the current one.

So here is the interesting question: do you _hear_ anything off at ~6k? (be honest! )

I would like to get my hands on one of those older models where the freq graph shows a definite peak around 6k just to compare mine to them...
