Here is mine, SN 14581. No 6 kHz peak, in fact a slight dip.

I guess I lucked out.  Certainly the sound has been great, I have not noticed any sibilance or other issues with the treble.  Mind you, I have not done any rigorous comparitive listening with other high-end headphones.

I really don't like the infrequencies between the HD800 sorta like taking a minor gamble

His is the first I've seen like that which is odd.  Nobody is going to listen to a HD800 and not know its a HD800 regardless of the graph.  There is likely far more consistency and similarity between pairs than any other dynamic phone you'll find.

My graph looks almost identical with a slight dip in the 6 kHz region...sounds identical to a friend's HD800 whose graph has a more significant peak at 6 kHz.

Just got an HD 800 about a week ago (serial 02***) and have asked for my frequency response chart.

I love the sound of the HD 800 and do find it less in bass than the LCD-2 which I'm used to, but the HD800 bass is still all there.

However I have noticed myself wanting for more bass and wondered if anyone here has done any listening tests between the earlier batches of the HD 800 and the later batches with the increase in sub bass. If you have, I'd be interested to see what you think. I wonder if the newer models sound like a more 'fun' headphone...

The difference is small. New HD800 are far away from LCD-2 in bass aspect.

If you willl show you FR when you recieve it I will say more accurately.
You should think about new cable for them if you want more bass. One of Stefan Audio Arts cables, for example...
