Sennheiser HD660S... Finally a successor for the HD650?

Man I wish I could get this exact same sound in an IEM.

Just my opinion, from someone that thinks the HD-660S is the best all-around 'phones to which he's personally listened.

I don't know about exact same sound... but, try a Shure SE-846. Yes, the bass is a little accentuated, but the clarity and, well, musicality of these IEMs remind me of the 660S (which is why I think I loved them on first listen).

I also have SE535LTDs and they have a smoother mid-range, than the 846, but lack the clarity on the top-end and, of course, are missing the full bass of the 846s.

The SE846 and HD660S both sound fabulous out of the LG G7.I can very well recommend this phone to someone who don't want to spend a fortune and get too deep into this hobby. The sound is very musical and detailed as well as wide with both and on top DTS X:3D makes watching movies a pleasure with 660S,almost like your own little home cinema, sound effects have great punch and depth.

I bought the HD-58X and the HD-660s thought they were too close in sound so I returned the HD-660s,...........

However I just bought a new pair of
HD-660s and other than the fact I'm kind of a Sennheiser Fanboy I have no reason why......

They were $100 cheaper than what I paid and I just had to have them .....

I think I have issues ......

I used to own the 846 but the lack of treble extension killed it for me, I can hear up to 17khz and it fell like the dropped like a stone somewhere around 8khz other than that though the bass, mids and clarity are exceptional.

Relaxing on this rainy afternoon listening to the 660S, you know it's good when your drawn in to the music instead of wondering what's better out there.

Absolutely. Also, in the evening when you just have to listen to that other song too, and that one and this one, when you know you should have gone to bed long ago, but it all just sounds too good

Really? i thought the HD58X wasnt close at all, a lot better sub bass extension but darker and less detailed treble, worse instrument separation and a smaller soundstage.
After removing the foam I played with them for 4 days and although not identical it was close enough I saw no benefit in keeping them.
But I have all the rest in the series and thought for $400 I'd get them again but still think the HD-6XX is my favorite .

I hope Massdrop does the HD-800s because I still really want a pair

If HD6XX is your favourite try to get your hands on a HD650 from 2015.

I bought my HD 580's used back in 2005 and have enjoyed using them for the past 14 years, Built my Pimeta v.1 prior to the purchase and was using a pair of Koss Pro 4x's.

Fast forward, Just bought a Schiit Valhalla 2 a few weeks ago. Last night, bought a pair of HD 660s from a member here, should get them on Friday. Takes a while for me to upgrade, especially if what I have is still working well.
