I think your auto-correct didn't work: returned vs retuned
Oops, my auto correct on my Android pad drives me nuts. It makes Pentagon out of Pentcon every time as it's best feature. I wrote retuned for sure.

Hello all! First post. Just got my HD660S headphones today. They sound great unbalanced during listening/burn-in, but I'm trying to determine the best way to go, cable-wise, for connecting these to my recently-purchased Astell & Kern AK70 MKII's 2.5mm balanced TRRS headphone output. Is there a cable-maker who makes a good one in volume for the HD6xx series anyone can recommend, or must I go the custom-made route? Or do they make quality adapters for 4.4mm Pentaconn 5-pin to 2.5mm (without SQ lost) as a cheaper alternative? Sorry for the rookie questions! Looking for something ideally premade in the 4 to 5-foot range in a cable. Thanks!

Glad that you like them. Balanced is for sure your way to go. I use it with the Pentaconn cable from my Sony DAP. All frequencies are more refined and controlled. I can recommend Forza Audio Works in Poland. They have different qualities to offer, here is the cheapest example:

With which pads do you use your DT1990? I think it's worth noting.
Hi I use the balanced pads, I did not like the analytic ones.

Well Amazon.ca just made the 660S pricing a little more attractive...(just over $400 US)....so couldn't resist....: )....but back-ordered for a few weeks...which is fine by me.
I was warned there was a possible few month delay on getting my 660s but Sennheiser Canada now shows in stock so maybe, just maybe...Amazon.ca will get their back orders filled.

How these sound to compare Aeon Flow open? I really like 660S but i´d like to hear AFO also. And we don´t have dealer where to listen.

More present in the upper mids. More impactful due to being a more responsive dynamic driver. The Open Aeon is a little smoother timbre but rougher in the treble. Resolution is about the same, Aeon has more bass texture and is cleaner overall in the bass. About equal.

When I had a WA3, I found the HD660s to be a really good pairing. However, once I moved up to better amplifiers, the HD660 sounded imbalanced. I agree with Tyll's review on this one. In other words, good with cheap amps, but doesn't scale.

Did you switch to amp with huge tubes which cost an arm and a leg? To improve the HD650?

What amplifiers did you move up to? Any higher end solid states such as the Violectric V200 or higher? Or are you mainly talking higher end tube amps?
