Sennheiser HD650 & Massdrop HD6XX Impressions Thread

Question. I don't know what the H5 is but I love the stock ones. Very comfy. Why not stick with the Sennheiser earpads?. Thx

HM5 pads are by Brainwavz and considerably less expensive than the stock pads. I think that the stock pads are about $40 from Sennheiser. I got the hm5 pads for $5 and a few bucks shipping. It's early but I think I may like them at least as much as stock pads.

Great job of getting them on Matt.

They look like they were made for the HD650.

I spy an Either in that pic

^^Thanks. The new pads are a little "chunky" compared to the stock pads, but I'm kind of liking them right now. Even if they were the same price as stocks pads, I might take the hm5 pads. It's a little early though. I need more time with them.

Looks like Grado Prestige Series foam.
But for $5 what have you got to lose by trying them out, the factory ones are going to wear out sooner of later.
I live in FL and sweat a lot in mine so I suspect sooner. I may grab a pair just as a backup, never know when mine might split open from sweat rot.

HUMM,   Just looked, they ani't $5, they're $20.00 or more depending.

if comfort was an issue I would be rushing on those thick pads. but on the hd650 it's not IMO. so I'm not sure I'm willing to go change the sound for no serious reason, I spent too much time on my EQs ^_^.
still it's nice to know that they fit.

When I first put them on with the hm5 pads, the clamp was a bit stronger because the pads are thicker. But after just a few minutes the memory foam adjust to the shape of your head and feels very comfortable.

Regarding the sound change, I didn't want to mess with the sound of the stock 650 either. This was mostly just an experiment but now I'm not sure that I could go back to stock pads.
