hentai Good to see you still around these parts!  You are absolutely correct; what we sometimes lose sight of is that within the last 5% of upgraded "sound quality" we lose all notion of value.  I have been fighting myself over the 009 decision a lot more lately.

Thats not to say sr009 is not better than hd600 but the senn is easy to have sweet mids regardless of partnering system. The sr009 is so revealing that we need to be extra careful in choosing source and cable.

What's funny, back when I had the GS-Xmk2 (for all of just a few days) the balanced HD600's sounded completely different than I have ever known them to sound on any other amp.  Hard to describe but had mixed feelings on how I felt about the sound.  Wish I had more time.

Ordered a Corda Classic for my HD600/HE500 yesterday as they are on sale atm, I currently use an M Stage amp which is a warm amp and I wanted something more neutral. Anyone heard or use a Corda with the HD600?

this is an interesting amp....some crossfed features of the stagedac has been placed on the amp.
i used to have the stagedac/concerto combo, which was slightly more edgy n brighter than my BCL.

No way. The HD600 is pretty much my ideal of a perfect sound sig. Have a look at all the people in the 650 thread modding theirs.

Those of you who have listened to a HD 600...would you classify it as a warm headphone and how does its warmth compare to the HD 698?

I just know this is the place to ask this question. I need to replace the pads on my old HD580's. Headroom is out of em right now but they say they will email me when they get some in. Can someone give me a quick guide on how to replace them once I get them. The 580 is almost identical to the 600 so what works with the 600 should work just the same with mine. Looking at them it kind of looks like the pads just have some type of adhesive on the back and just stick to the plastic housing, is that right or is it a bit more involved than that?
