It might be due to the change of the headband cushion. Sounds odd to say it, but in Europe too on Thomann it went on 2-3 week delivery last month and now it's back in stock with the new, 650 headband. So maybe there was a gap between supplying the stock with the old 600 headband version and the new one.
But yes, it will be discontinued at some point by Sonova, IMHO.

Nice setup. The 600 is the technically superior phone. Having said that I listen to the 58X much more often. It's just more fun to my ears and listening preferences. So for fun listening I prefer the 58X. If you are looking more for technical or critical listening the 600, 650/6XX, or 660s are all better options.
If you plan on bringing an otl tube amp into the mix, the 600 excels. I like having both (well actually all 4 lol!) depending on mood and equipment. If you are curious about the 600 it's definitely worth trying. For many people it's their endgame phone.

Ohhhh, thank you very much for the info. Glad to hear that you prefer the 58X even with all those other ones! I'll definitely have to grab the 600 at one point to try out then, am curious about it XD
For future reference, do you know if the same case that I use for the 58X will fit the 600?

No problem! It sure will (ok let me caveat that to it should without knowing the exact case your using). I run my 58Xs in the office most the time and I use the case I bought for the 600 to throw it in my laptop backpack. Works perfectly.
I took a gamble on a few hard cases for the Astro A40 headset, they were on EBay for 99 cents. I bought 3, and they fit the HD600/650/58x perfectly with enough room for the cable too!

So I just ordered it... Saw sweetwater had an instant 50 bonus bucks deal when signing up with their credit card so that lowered the price to $277 after tax so I had to jump on it lol. Can't wait to get it!
I have 2 more questions:
1) Do these use the same cables as the 58x? I have a harts audio cable that I use for those and I prefer it over the original cable for the weight/size.
2) These are my first 300 ohms headphones, should I be using these in low gain or high gain?
1. Your Hart Audio cable will work just fine on the 600.
2. Use high gain. It's been my experience the 600s are the hardest to drive in the 600 family.
