Sennheiser HD 600 Impressions Thread

I want to update this: once the HD600 fully burned in, I found the difference between the 600 and 650 narrowed enough that I now slightly prefer the HD650 for its warmer tone. The HD600 is a little brighter, but I found the effect diminished as I put more hours on the phone. I also tried using an HD650 cable on the 600 and that made them harder to tell apart.

I'm happy to own both headphones and I will keep both. :smile_phones:

Never mind. I did a back and forth between the two headphones and find that I prefer the HD600.

Haha, I am in the situation with you before. I want to like the 650 but can't, vocals are sometimes shouty and highs are lacking for my taste and sold it while I love the 600. I ordered HD59X to compliment it.

Definitely a new look. Hopefully they didn't change anything technical affecting the sound. The old adage "Don't fix it if it ain't broken" certainly applies when it comes to the HD600's overall sound. Thanks for this Cankin.
Looks like a refresh, wish they used the same grill from the 660s, I really like it!

So Sennheiser 'aren't' discontinuing the 600/650?

The HD650 is the only one I read/ heard that was going to be discontinued when the 660 S came out. I believe Sennheiser claimed it was the HD650 replacement, though you shouldn't quote me on that (whether it was Sennheiser who officially claimed that). I personally never read/ heard that the HD600 would suffer the same fate.

HD600 owners, do the sides of your cups (the grey metal parts) stay pristine? I noticed after about 20 days of owning a new pair what look like scuff marks on the sides. I don't know what causes them as they only ever go on my head or back onto a Sennheiser headphone holder.

Edit: I'm referring to the grey metal parts just below the pads, not the grilles.

Have had mine for several years and have not seen scuffs on mine.
