Just got my HD600s in the mail an hour ago. Addicted so far even though they aren't amped properly. Ordered the O2+ODAC combo and can't wait for them to be even better, although they are better than anything I've ever heard already.

Wait till they burn in.

Got new pads, headband and a HD650 cable for my HD600 today.
Now I enjoy them with some David Bowie & Mazzy Star! Sounds to natural!
I prefer HD6X0 over HE-6 with such music actually

Recommendations that work with balanced cables, possibly? :)

Audio-GD NFB-1AMP

Little Dot MK VI

Not cheap. :xf_eek:

For a nice portable option that should power everything, look into the RSA Intruder.

I was looking into a Musical Fidelity V90-BHA but they appear to have jacked up inputs that I'd have to get adapters for:

I guess I could use RCA jacks for the V2 and plug them into the unit from the SE jack, but I'd probably prefer to use the balanced jack instead....but that would require a 3 Pin plug (I have a 4 pin). Then the front would also require a full size 4 pin XLR Male to some sort of mini 4 pin XLR adapter, and I literally don't even know if they make those.

lol. Finding or making adapters to meet the needs of your system is one of the founding pillars of this glorious hobby.

I have HD600 and HE-400, last week I decided to sell the HE-400 and keep my HD600.
HD600 with desktop amp give me more enjoyable moment.

I still tempted by sound of planar cans, probably will go to Audeze.

If you like the sound of the HD 600 and thr signature, I would hold off on the audeze headphone. I would go with something like the He 400S/400i, and if you have the money go straight to the he-560. I owned the hd600 for a long while and then those two headphones definitely have a closer signature nut better speed and in the 560s case better detail retrieval and resolution. Just my two cents if you like the hd600 sound.

I haven't auditioned the Hifimans, so I can't dispute the claim they are closer to the HD600. However, I have just yesterday received a pair of LCD2.2 w/ Fazor, and here are my initial impressions which I posted in the Audez'e thread.

Look what came in the mail today. This is what I call an upgrade to the Sennheiser HD600.

LCD 2.2 Fazor.

My original plan was to upgrade my DAC first. But foolish Pinky, I peruse the Classifieds too regular-like. Saw this at a great price, and couldn't stop myself.

The LCD2 is being driven by my Maverick Audio D1 Plus, fully upgraded. So it's single-ended right now. Sounds amazing.

I love the signature of the HD600, and these seem to hold to that fairly well. Neutral-warm, laid-back sonics. Yet these have so much depth to them, and frightfully silky texture. They are a healthy cut above what I'm used to.

Need to get that balanced DAC now!

Poor, mistreated coin purse. :frowning2:

I thought about the HE560 for a while. The fact is, my SennHD600 is a titan. If I was looking for an upgrade, I knew it would take a lot for me to feel it was a worth-while upgrade. The LCD2 seemed like the right choice.

Now I think I was absolutely right.

Obviously, this is just my subjective, first-night opinions.

Anyway, hope it helps.

That is good, I am glad You like the LCD2.2 I liked them form when I tried them out, nice easy to listen to sound. The HE-400i/400s are both very good similar signature sound to the HD600 as well, just not as expensive as the LCD2.2. I am sure any of these would be a nice option as far as a first ortho. I thiknk that is why I enjoy the NFB28 so much because of the power it delivers into my HE-560, and the resolution and detail that it is able to pull from the HE-560 is wonderful.

I know I really enjoyed my HD600's from the Schiit Vali and Cdac+(similar to the ODAC) back a few years ago. Was a wonderful combination.

Have Chord Mojo enough power to amplify HD600?
