Sennheiser HD 600 Impressions Thread

I personally am looking for a portable amp so I can bring my set up between the office and home, where I have non-portable headphones at both. A desk amp is having to buy twice as much gear. Also, even if I'm using a non-portable headphone, I like the flexibility of being able to move from one end of the house to the other, depending on where the kids/wife is.
portaphile 627 pairs well with the 600 & 650's. Drives them with authority.

I'm using a Triad Audio Lisa III when I'm on the go with the HD600. Sounds very similar to my Phonitor, although not as powerful.

On the go with HD600?

It's not that crazy. I've also seen people wearing the HD 800 or HE-400 in the subway here on Head-Fi (headphone sightings thread).

If you don't want isolation on the go (and if your environment is rather quiet), I don't see any reason against open-back headphones.

That is weird... I would never do that...
1, I do not want to disturb other people with my music
2, with an opened headphone you hear all the noises, especially on underground. how can you enjoy the music than?

I wouldn't do it either (in the subway), but if you don't listen at loud volume levels, your environment won't hear anything at all. As I said, if your environment is rather quiet, it isn't as bad as it may appear on the first thought.
The only thing that would have bothererd me a few years ago would be the weird looks that folgs would give when seing you wearing big headphones outside (happened to me when I took my HD 598 outside once when I bought them just after release and another time when I had my HD 202), but nowadays it is quite "normal" for people to see someone wearing big headphones outside (I took my DT770 Pro and Amperior outside last year and noone even looked at me).

I mean, sometimes you just want to perceive your environmental noise. During sports I sometimes use the Koss Porta Pro or Apple EarPods just because I want to hear my environment, but if I want all of those environmental noise to be blocked, I take one of my iems with good noise isolation.

Pulled the trigger on the Schiit Magni/Modi 2 Uber. The 600s are so excited.

Interesting case of transference. The first ever for headphones.

My Schiit will be here Monday. The 600s can hardly sit still. Now I have to break it to my girlfriend.
