Rock on the 580 should be fine too, tho I don't have any comparisons available. I can tell you my grados are better at that, but nothing useful to the OP

*Jealous?*

Something else to consider--a lot of people find the HD25 really uncomfortable.  Since it's for home use, you might get a lot more enjoyment out of the Beyers.

I haven't had an opportunity to try the Ultrasone, but between the HD25 and DT 770 Pro (not sure if that's the exact model you're looking at), I chose the 770. The 770 Pro had awesome bass for hip hop, dub step, electro. It does relatively well for rock music as well imo.

580 comfort would be so-so. Not the most comfortable hp in the world, but its not too bad. I might go for the beyer if it is for home use

well the 770 is around your ears while the hd25 clamps on ear, i tried both kind of briefly at a headfi meet. While i recall both being pretty good, i cant see how the hd25 would get even more comfy then the beyer

u however have the choice to go poetable with the senns. i would judge between the two by this factor. strictly at home > beyer, portable > senn

and 580, while i own and love them, are not that comfortable after hours of use. I need to take them off every roughly 2-3hrs...well maybe thats all time u need them on. I just listen to them once i get home, till i sleep..
