It's the other way around here - 389 лв. ($280) for the HD598 and 299 лв. ($220) for the K601

I'm going to noob out for a moment, but I tried the Senn 598 and the Senn 201 and I can't hear a big difference. The 598's are more comfortable to wear, but sound wise..... it's fuller and warmer maybe, but not an enormous difference to the 598.

Overall, I thought the bass was ok, but a bit too punchy and right in the face/centered; like every sound came from a small source. I missed fullness, roundness and soundstage?

I know a lot of audiophiles their gf’s/bf’s don’t notice a lot of difference too though. Lol.

Both are cans have different sound sigs and different amping requirements.  I would make sure your source and amp are up the the task first before you buy one of these cans and make your own judgments.  Seems like most people buy a nice headphone first and use it with a sub-par amp and source which results in skewed results.
