Nah dont worry I cannot sacrifice the bass for blocking out sound. lol

Besides I heard the HD 280 is kinda uncomfortable and the head band breaks.

I do not need them to block out all the sound once they block out enough.

And I am not willing to sacrifice the bass for isolation.

BTW will you say they will block out a great deal more noise than the HD555?

OK, then you bought the right headphones. The HD280 clamps hard and requires stretching for most, so I'm sure you would have found it uncomfortable. A plastic part of the headband on my HD280 cracked / broke, but that did not prevent it from working properly. The HD555 is open and does not block sound. I'm sure the M50 will clamp sufficiently for you.

Well I thinks I will appreciate the M50 more and from what I have read its bass should quite an upgrade compared to the HD280.

The bass in the HD555 used to break a lot and get distorted at high volume and it lacked extensions badly. Well lets say it as thr worst headphone for rock and hip hop and trance.

I am told the M50 will not have this problem.

I can't wait till I get them I will be glad when they arrive on the 1st december cause I have a exam to write 30th november.

If you have a big head, HD280 is not for you. You have to stretch it hard, and HD280 is known for the headband cracking from that incident.

Speaking of the BASS, M50 beats HD280 out of a water.

How would you compare the sound including bass of the Denon 2000 to the M50?

Are the 280 good for highs?

Yes, the 280s have very good highs. AND I PERSONALLY found the bass to be very strong even without an amp.

I own both hd280 and the m50 and between the 2 i always reach over for the m50s. there is just so much more bass on the m50 and it is easily powered by a laptop headphone jack. Make sure to buy the coiled cord version (i made the mistake of getting a ridiculous 10 foot long straight cord)
