Sennheiser IE900 Review, Measurements, & Harman Target Talk

OK. I'm in. Ordered.

Any comments about whether these need or change with burn-in?
I felt the IE900 changed the most in the first 50 hours. There will be slight changes from 50-100 hours, but barely noticeable (or placebo) changes after 100 hours. I burned-in mine using pink noise.

I got some to as I find they seal well and give the best sound (though a bit meh with other iem's - prefer Symbio's with my Andromeda's). As I have spare ones I removed the foam inserts and 'webbing' in a pair and find the highs more to my liking, brighter though this could be as they're reaching 100 hrs? Really liking the bass with these, hearing songs differently, better than BA bass: more natural, well from iem's that I've tried.

The foam insert in the tip dampens treble by about a decibel. Not really a big deal normally, but relevant because the IE900’s mid-treble is toeing the line. I haven’t found any other tips that sound as good as the stock silicone ones. It’s a shame because the seal on them is terrible for me lol.

The stock silicone are easily the best and most natural sounding to my ears too. I’m yet to see any measurements comparing the stock silicone to the stock foam. My guess is that everything will remain identical up to around 2khz and then the foam will have a few dB less here and there, especially in the upper treble.

I've had quite a rollercoaster with tips and landed back today on Symbio F - mostly due to a need to block out some nearby noise. I must say I love again the fullness of sound, definitely warmer but still plenty of sparkle.

I noticed that the size of the tip makes a difference too haha. Stock silicone medium has a little less treble than stock silicone small. Stock foam small is pretty close to the stock silicone medium. This is matched at 1kHz:

This is what happens when we let the smart kids run riot with sensitive measuring equipment...

Now I'm going to have to try out the medium stock again. Stop messing with my head @Precogvision! 😝

With the small tips, the fit goes much much deeper.

Small Tip being really deep. Notice the Senn Logo

Using medium/large tips. Note the Logo positioning
