Thank youWhat? No immersion into a tank of mineral oil?
All kidding aside -- nice rig. My OC days are behind me, of course I never dared introduce water, but I'm an oldskool OC'er. A bit of pin masking, a huge heatrsink with 120mm fan, a Peltier, plenty of power, insulation to prevent condensate and I was off to the races. Now with an i7 quad at 3.5-4GHz, I don't even bother. Overclocking a graphics card is another matter altogether.
I must state again, it is a beautiful rig!!
It is a binned cpu and will do 5Ghz like nothing, It goes faster but no point really. I'm not even much of a gamer, just a complete hardware junkie. Been at it for years, I pretty much never sell anything so I have quite a collection of PC stuff.
It's currently my main rig as I am now tearing down my semi-fanless rig to make a new completely silent workstation grade PC, this will be some pretty new stuff, and a compleat move to Win 10 for me. I am still not using latest /greatest hardware as I still need pci for my sound card.
This is the basic setup on a test bench, I'm using a older case I am modding for it. It has to be a very free flowing case for this to work. The heatsink is special and not available anymore I think, cost me more than I'd like. But I hate fans now
It will be stock speed with max turbo, then undervolted to the max to stay cool. It will have 1 fan just in case, but it should never run unless maxxed out, even then only 300 rpm.
I'm also modifying my corner audio table to be cherry and black granite with a large pedestal to raise the PC up above the audio gear, It's an ambitious project for me considering all I have on my plate.
But it will be cool.
Some of the parts are tiny even for me so I had to adapt. I also learned which parts I need to order extra of since just a slight mistake holding the parts and you never see them again.
I may try to get in touch with you when I get several of the boards built. The headphone rack used here is about $30 on Amazon, I did not build that.
Nice work!I will be in need of four small pieces of oak or walnut for a mono block amp build so maybe we can work out a trade. I can do some things but having the time is never easy. I used all hand tools for the archery rack, I went old school just for the heck of it.
Yes no problem, just let me know
