Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

... I was like: drink this one bottle I paid $40 for now, or sell it for $500 to someone - no brainer). ...
A while back, we looked at a house with a 30foot long wine cellar. Circumstances changed so we did not consider it but it was tempting at the time!

I think I've told this story before:

My (not yet) wife and I went to London early '90s. When we were leaving, in the airport, we realized we didn't have a suitable souvenir so we dashed into the duty-free shop and grabbed a Scotch that looked interesting, for like £20-50, we didn't have a lot of money then.

I opened it some 25y or so later and we had a sip and wow isn't wow enough, iykwim.

Then I looked up what it was on the internet. mid four figures. My wife (same person) said, "We drank that?!"

... there are many very distinct styles of Scotch - Lowland, Highland, Speyside, Islay, ...
I've tried a bunch. My old cohort tried to get me addicted to Islay and heavily peated. No thanks! I can do without that iodine flavor.

Speyside and Highland for me!

Sitting in the back of the RV leaving Hill Country. Scrolling to catch up here, nigh impossible, impossible I say, so as not to miss 10,000.

If I might make a suggestion?

As soon as page 9998 happens everyone should start posting pet pictures furiously to see if a cat or a dog leads off top of page10,000!

........probably be a parakeet! :)

If you don't have pets and want to participate post tubes!

........ probably be Telefunken!

A new Schiit Poster Pet/Tube will be crowned!

Jason may even make it a poster for the soon to open River Walk Schiitr in old San Antonio!

I smoked Hoyo de Monterry Excalibur until surgery in 2000, when the cardiologist said "No more". I drank good single malt Scotch until April of this year when the cardiologist said "No more". I think that I need a new cardiologist.
My family doctor, when I cared to have one, examined me (20y ago now) and said, "You can eat/drink whatever you want." She was a keeper :-D

Islay was my first Scotch love (Ardbeg 10-Year) but I adore a good Speyside.

This was a few years ago. I backed away from cigars after a heart attack. I have only enjoyed a half dozen since. If I am ever given more I will send one your way. The last Cuban’s I had were Montecristos and I passed them out at a party.
Thanks, Tom. We're happy that you recovered so you can be here with us, in this happy place. Making great cables and sharing your life knowledge. We all seem to do that pretty well here, ya know? Approaching 10,000 pages of shared and valuable knowledge. Wow, just wow. The best thread on Head-Fi.

Careful, I have it on good authority that Schiit will shut down operations once the 10k page count has been met.
Not a special edition, $10K Yggdrasilasaurus? Wasn't there some talk of something like that?

We have a dog named Barley (sheltie) (hmm, how did we come up with that name  ) and an unopened bottle of Islay Barley....
